Bride is scolded by family for her ‘weird’ choice of wedding dress: ‘It is inappropriate and unfair’
- Bride-to-be scolded for ‘weird’ choice of wedding dress
- She chose the same dress as her sister-in-law ‘in a slightly different color’
A young woman has targeted her “unimaginative” sister-in-law for “copying” her wedding day look, with the two marriages only 19 months apart.
The sister-in-law approached the woman and said she was so impressed with her in-laws’ wedding dress from last year that she had now bought “the exact same dress in a slightly different color.”
And while some people said the young woman should be flattered by the copy-cat act, she was outraged.
“I’m hurt that my dress from my special day will no longer be special because my husband’s sister is going to wear it too,” she lamented.

The original bride married in April 2022, her sister-in-law will walk down the aisle in November this year.
“My husband wants to tell her it’s inappropriate and unfair,” she said.
“Should I let him say something and risk a fight or should I let it go and get over it?” she asked while posting to a popular bridal group.
People quickly sided with the young woman and dismissed the bride-to-be because of her “weird” choice of dress.
‘It seems rather unimaginative to choose a dress that you’ve already seen at another wedding. Besides being weird and rude, it’s kind of weak from a creativity point of view,” said one woman.
“You have to go out of your way to buy the same dress, this is so weird,” said another.
“The fact that the SIL told her lets me know it was pretty intentional, which I personally find weird,” said a third.
Another said it would be different if they were friends.
“Because they are related, pictures will be shown side by side, how awkward,” one woman said.
Others said the sister-in-law was “exaggerated.”

If someone else wearing the same dress doesn’t make hers special, she probably should have had one custom made and not bought off the rack because hundreds of other brides have worn the same dress. Maybe SIL didn’t even realize it was the same dress when she tried it on,’ they said.
Some joked “every bride has been warning ‘the same deep V-lace thing’ for the past three years.”
“I don’t know man, is it fair to ask the sister to give up her dream dress because someone else wore it a year and a half ago? People take that shit so seriously for no reason. No one will notice,” said another.
Others admitted that they “wouldn’t care” if someone close to them wore the same dress – but the fact that the bride-to-be said it out loud was “gross.”
