Kylian Mbappe ‘wants a £206 million package to join a club’ if he leaves PSG, but Real Madrid ‘will NOT take a step this summer as they believe the French star is a ‘prisoner of money’

  • Kylian Mbappe outlined his desire to leave PSG when his contract expires in 2024
  • He has been strongly linked with Real Madrid, who made the switch for him last year
  • Real will probably try to get him in for free when his contract expires next year

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly asking for €240 million (£206 million) if he wants to join a club this summer.

The PSG and France striker is currently on holiday after a grueling but hugely successful season.

For his club, Mbappé has scored 41 goals in 43 appearances, while also scoring 13 goals for Les Bleus in the past 12 months, including winning the Golden Boot at the World Cup in Qatar.

However, there is currently uncertainty over his future with the Parisians after he confirmed his desire to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract in June 2024.

In a statement released earlier this month, the attacker pointed to the French giant’s “shortcomings” and the departure of World Cup winner Lionel Messi as key factors in his decision not to renew his contract.

He recently outlined his desire to leave PSG when his contract expires in the summer of 2024

He has been linked with a slew of clubs, including Real Madrid – who turned down Mbappé last summer to sign a new contract – although his reported £893,000 a week wages are seen as a potential challenge for any suitor.

And according Markathe French star – who is represented by his mother Fayza Lamari – is said to demand a package worth £206 million from each club.

The report also says that long-term Real fans have never seen a move for Mbappe as on the card this year, and this hasn’t changed since he expressed his desire to leave PSG.

There is a belief at the Bernabeu that the 24-year-old – who is one of the highest paid athletes in the world – is a ‘prisoner of money’ who must realize that he will have to take a pay cut if he eventually does move to the Bernabeu.

The plan of Los Blancos remains to approach him as a free agent next summer – a move they nearly completed last year.

Given the lack of alternatives and financial considerations, this means that despite the departure of club icon and legend Karim Benzema, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are currently not expected to sign a new striker.

Last month, they struck a deal to sign Joselu, the 33-year-old Espanyol striker, on a season-long loan.

The former Stoke City and Newcastle flop endured a torrid time in the Premier League, but has since revived his career in his homeland.

He scored 16 goals last season for Espanyol – who were relegated from LaLiga – while also netting three times in four caps for Spain since breaking through to the national team earlier this year.

Speculation surrounding Mbappe has come amid chaos engulfing PSG in recent days.

Boss Christophe Galtier – who is widely expected to be replaced by Luis Enrique in the role – was reportedly taken into police custody over allegations of racism while in charge of Nice and it remains to be seen what happens next.
