Never mind the posh frocks… Now it’s Phoebe Waller-Rotten!
Never mind the fancy dresses… Now it’s Phoebe Waller-Rotten! The creator of Fleabag dons an outfit similar to the Sex Pistols
Who would have thought that the immaculately posh Phoebe Waller-Bridge – descended from two baronets – would have anything in common with punk star Johnny Rotten?
But it seems they’re very similar fashion-wise, with the creator of Fleabag last week spotted wearing a black outfit with lots of zippers, similar to the kind the Sex Pistols frontman wore in his wild 1970s.
It’s likely Mrs Waller-Bridge’s version was a lot more expensive – her all-in-one, called Bauhaus, was created by Californian fashion designer Rick Owens and is currently available for £1,285.
Zippers, along with safety pins and chains, were an essential part of the punk look and Rotten – real name John Lydon – was pictured wearing a very similar outfit in the 1970s. Clash frontman Joe Strummer also wore an almost identical jacket during photo shoots.
Ms Waller-Bridge wore the outfit while dining at London celebrity haunt The Ivy with her director partner Martin McDonagh. She paired her jumpsuit with a pair of burnt orange Adidas Gazelle sneakers costing £100.
