Coronation Street fans gutted after DOUBLE exit which saw fan favourite wave goodbye to Weatherfield
Coronation Street fans were gutted on Friday night when the soap aired a double exit.
Fan favorite Evelyn Plummer left Weatherfield with drug-addicted daughter Cassie as she vowed to help her get clean amid her latest overdose.
The departure coincides with actress Maureen Lipman’s temporary departure from the show, after it was previously revealed she would be taking a month-long break to star in West End play Rose.
And as the soap caught up with real life, dramatic scenes showed the moment Evelyn decided to leave the streets in an effort to help her estranged daughter, played by Claire Sweeney.
Watching the emotional scenes unfold, viewers were quick to share their dismay at Evelyn’s departure, with many hoping she would return soon.
