“(The) service from Honolulu to Sydney encountered unexpected severe turbulence,” said an airline spokesman told 7NEWS.

“Four passengers and three flight attendants were initially treated by an onboard doctor and our crew members, in consultation with doctors on the ground.”

“Two passengers were taken to St George and one passenger was taken to Prince of Wales,” a spokesman said.

The specific aircraft is now undergoing a ‘thorough inspection’, which will affect the departure time of flight HA452 from Sydney to Honolulu.

More to come.
