A woman has been beaten and killed after the blue Holden Commodore she was in broke down on a busy highway.
The 26-year-old swung down with other vehicles at 10.40pm Thursday after running out of fuel on the northbound carriageway of the Kwinana Freeway in Western Australia’s Stake Hill.
It’s clear she was hit by a red Mitsubishi Outlander after she got out of the Commodore on the hard shoulder.
The woman was driving with her boyfriend from Collie in the southwest of the state to friends in Perth when they ran out of gas. Western Australian said.
They both got out to flag down other cars before she was tragically hit by the other vehicle.
She suffered critical injuries and died on the spot.
The second woman in her 20s, believed to be a passenger, was taken to Rockingham Hospital by St John WA services.
