Nicki Minaj says she would ‘love to help’ pay for school for 14-year-old boy who shot and killed a man as he hit his mother on the head: ‘It’s what every son should have done’

Nicki Minaj supports a 14-year-old boy after he shot and killed an adult man who attacked his mother.

The 40-year-old rapper was apparently moved by reports of the shooting, which took place at a fast-food restaurant in Chicago earlier this month.

Charlisha Hood was captured on mobile phone footage being repeatedly punched in the head by Jeremy Brown, 32, before her teenage son entered the establishment and shot Brown multiple times, killing him.

Minaj — who was charged with stealing a musician’s beat for her 2014 song I Lied earlier this month — defended the teen and his mother in a text message shared to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday.

The hitmaker defended the 14-year-old who killed the attacker, saying she would “be happy” to help pay for him to attend college in the future.

“That 14 year old boy who was behind that hammer when that grown** man punched his mother in the face like she was a MAN; is a true hero,” she wrote. “If he wants to go to university, I’ll be happy to help. It’s what EVERY son should have done for his MOTHER.’

“She raised a drug child and should be so proud. God knew it too, she knew it; that she would be attacked that day and made sure they had protection on DEK. God is good.’

Hood and her son were initially both charged with murder by prosecutors, along with a second charge against the mother for contributing to a minor’s delinquency.

Prosectors subsequently dropped charges against Hood — who had no criminal background — and her son after new cell phone video evidence emerged.

Previous security camera footage had shown the teen shooting at both the restaurant and the parking lot.

However, newly shared footage from inside the restaurant seemed to show what triggered the attack.

Hood was seen arguing with Brown in the diner’s queue when he repeatedly hit her on the head, allegedly at the instigation of his girlfriend, though it’s unclear exactly what led to the attack.

The new footage seemed to make it clear that the shooting was in response to the attack.

Prior to the release, prosecutors allegedly alleged that Hood texted her son telling him to come to the restaurant after the argument started, and also alleged that she told her son to continue firing at Brown and kill him, even after he already did. shot and incapacitated, according to NBC 5 Chicago.

They also alleged that she tried to take her son’s gun before he pushed her away.

It’s unclear if prosecutors are still holding on to those details.

The Cook County Attorney’s office said it intended to dismiss the case “in light of emerging evidence.”

“Based on the facts, evidence and law, we are unable to meet our burden of proof in prosecuting these cases,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

Minaj previously offered to pay tuition fees for some of her Twitter followers in 2017, and she took it even further with the creation of the Student of the Game college fund program in 2018.

She selected 37 winners who later that year tweeted along with the fund’s hashtag how much money they would need, and they agreed to pay both their tuition and additional amounts for books and living expenses.

However, it is unclear whether the Super Bass singer has continued to pay tuition fees for subsequent groups of students.
