Viewers slam ‘rotten’ and ‘trashy’ Shane Warne miniseries as first episode debuts on Channel Nine to bad reviews: ‘Insult to the big man’
The Channel Nine biographical TV series Shane Warne titled Warnie debuted on Sunday night to an avalanche of negative reviews.
Viewers who tuned in were not impressed with what they saw, with many sharing their thoughts on Twitter.
Warnie series couldn’t better represent how messy your brand is. Insult to the big man. Shame!’ one person wrote.
’10 minutes in Warnie and turned it off. Just, no actually horrific,’ said another.
“Cringe factor aside, this is just boring,” another tweeted, while another wrote, “This is rotten and getting worse…”

“This Warnie biopic is so lame, how did it get approved,” said another person watching at home.
This isn’t “it’s so bad it’s funny,” it’s so bad it’s excruciatingly painful. Less than 15 minutes in,” someone else tweeted.
“So far it’s worse than I expected. Tasteless and sensational. So disappointing,” another viewer wrote.
Others said they’d give it a shot, with one writing, “This Warnie series on Nine is already very chilling, poorly directed and rougher than sandpaper.”

It comes after Shane’s ex-wife Simone Callahan criticized the timing of the miniseries.
The former WAG thinks it is too early for a show about the late cricketer, who died suddenly of a heart attack aged just 52 on March 4, 2022 while on holiday in Thailand.
“I didn’t want to read too much about it, but I think it’s a bit unkind and mean to be honest,” the 53-year-old told the Announce sun.
He just passed away, rest in peace. And for the kids, I just believe they are showing no compassion at all by bringing this out in such a short time after this happened. To be honest, but that’s how I feel about it,” she added.
