The This Morning star signed up for the E4 show after her rocky split from cheating fiancé Ben Ofoedu.
She apparently made the decision to star on the show after months of talks with show bosses who were eager to sign her on, according to the Sun.
TalkTV host Vanessa, who broke up with Ben in February, became the first celebrity to agree to star in the new series.
An insider told the publication, “When Vanessa was first approached to do the show, she wasn’t 100% sure because the breakup was still very fresh and she didn’t want to rush into anything.
Now she’s had time to think about it and she’s decided to give it a shot. Her relationship coming to a devastating, unexpected end after 16 years has made her realize that life is short and you have to seize opportunities when they come your way.
She added, “She doesn’t necessarily expect to find her soulmate, but she’s also open because stranger things have happened.
“At 61, she wants to have fun, live and try new things — and this fits the bill perfectly.”

Vanessa is one of the biggest names that Channel 4 bosses have picked up for the show and they see her performance on the show as quite the coup.
The source revealed that bosses are confident that she will be the main attraction of the series and that viewers will be enchanted by her in her search for Mr Right.
It comes after Ben claimed he was “out of control” in the wake of his recent cheating scandal and that his life was only “saved” by a starring role on the new London show, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding.
In February, his ex-fiancee Vanessa Feltz, 61, revealed she had separated from her partner of 17 years amid claims he had been unfaithful and exchanged ‘sex texts’ with another woman, which he later confirmed.
The singer, 50, was soon subjected to vile trolling about his personal life, making him feel like everything was coming at him as he struggled with his mental health.
Still grieving the death of his brother Roy, who had recently passed away at the age of 47 due to an “unexpected medical crisis,” Ben began to empathize with those who “feel like there’s no way out.”
But once Vinnie Black’s role in the immersive wedding experience came about, he was able to throw himself into his newest job and escape the outside world.

The Phats & Small star told MailOnline exclusively, “Tony and Tina’s wedding literally saved my life. Like literally saved my life. I had two big mournings. I let my brother die and shortly after that my relationship with Vanessa was over.
That’s a 17 year relationship. And man, I just got out of control. I just felt like everything was coming at me all my life and with the trolling and backlash I got from my breakup with Vanessa.
“I understand that people just say things and express their opinions, but I kind of understand now how people feel like there’s no way out and they just want to end it.
“I can understand that if you subscribe to it and read all the comments and things like that, you start to feel really awful as a person, even though you try to forgive yourself and you can’t forgive yourself because no one does. are you going to forgive and then you can’t even forgive yourself.’
