Channel Nine has revealed new details about the 19th season of their popular reality show The Block.

In a twist on the format, the new Blockheads were given a 12-week schedule right at the start of their renovation journey.

In past seasons, the show’s contestants only learned about each challenge a week in advance.

The five couples for the 2023 series remodeled five 1950s homes in Melbourne’s Hampton East.

Now, Nine has teased the new season with a throwback-themed photo set, featuring scenes from the show’s upcoming trailer.

Elsewhere in the trailer, he reveals that contestants will be working on a tight 12-week schedule.

Filming on The Block 2023 began on Charming Street in March, but locals were reportedly unhappy with the production.

Angry residents claimed they were driven from their neighborhood by traders and producers congregating in five classic brick houses on the street.

In March, some residents were angry when they were asked by Nine to move their car so that a 1950s commercial for the hit reality TV show could be filmed.

“The way the Channel Nine producers handled it was nothing short of a joke,” said one resident.

“He literally told residents to move our cars, but he could park wherever he wanted.”
