AC Milan ‘considering sensational swoop for Romelu Lukaku’
AC Milan ‘contemplating a sensational attack for Romelu Lukaku’ for city rival Inter Milan
- The future of Romelu Lukaku is an important talking point in this transfer window
- He was loaned to Inter Milan last season and would like to stay
- A new report in Italy claims rivals AC Milan are plotting their own move
AC Milan are considering a ‘sensational’ move for Romelu Lukaku, under the nose of their bitter rivals Inter.
Lukaku spent last season on loan at Inter Milan and the Italian giants are eager to extend that loan for another year, with the player hesitant to return to parent club Chelsea.
But Gazzetta dello Sport claiming a ‘sensational’ idea has been born in the city in Milan, with AC plotting a permanent move for the Belgian in an attempt to freshen up their aging attack.
The Italian newspaper explains that Milan are eager to negotiate a deal to buy him outright, which is infinitely more attractive to Chelsea than any other loan deal.
Sandro Tonali is closing in on a move to Newcastle and Milan are reportedly eager to reinvest that money to impress next season.

Gazzetta dello Sport detailed Lukaku’s explosive story on Thursday’s front page
There is interest from Saudi Arabia in Lukaku, but it is clear that he is not keen on a move to the Kingdom, where he is also wanted by Al-Hilal.
It now seems that there is a battle going on between the two Milan teams and that could increase the pressure on Inter.
“Romelu loves Inter, that’s very clear,” Inter chairman Steven Zhang said last month.
“He’s a great guy, but he’s under contract with Chelsea.”
Zhang added: “We have to wait and talk to Chelsea to clarify Lukaku’s future.”
Lukaku has an affinity for Inter, but they are reportedly only planning to make a rental offer
Chelsea accept they have been forced to take a financial blow to all players headed for departure this summer as they seek a comprehensive summer clearance for new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
But Lukaku is not allowed to leave for nothing and so a bidding war sounds like music to the Blues’ ears.
It appears Inter is only willing to approve another loan deal, with the report adding that AC Milan could rise to €40m.
However, crossing the derby lines in Milan would be a bold move and one that would shake up Italian football.
