Karl Stefanovic continues to live up to it during his European summer vacation with his wife Jasmine – Today’s ratings lag far behind rival Sunrise.

The 48-year-old Channel Nine breakfast show host went the extra mile to watch the State of Origin II game and tuned into 9Now on his mobile phone while sitting in a cafe enjoying a cup of coffee.

The Maroons team supporter shared a photo of the moment on his Instagram account and smiled as he held up his phone showing the broadcast.

“Thanks to the Lord for 9Now,” he captioned the photo. ‘Queenslander!!!’

Meanwhile, back in Australia, the Today show continues to struggle in the ratings battle with Sunrise following former Olympic sprinter Matt Shirvington’s debut as host last week.

He replaced David Koch, who retired after a record 21 years.

The latest ratings show that 245,000 subway viewers tuned in to see the new presenter sit alongside Natalie Barr on the Channel Seven breakfast programme.

Meanwhile, Today landed 192,000 in the subway market when co-host Sarah Abo was joined by James Bracey – filling in during Karl’s vacation.

On the first day of Shirvo last Monday, some 235,000 subway viewers tuned in, which was considered impressive for the King’s birthday celebration.

As for last Monday’s Today show, they drew 188,000 in the subway market.

Last week, Karl and his wife Jasmine attended the wedding of chicken heiress Tamie Ingham and Guillaume Brahimi in Paris.

Karl and Jasmine, who got married in 2018, introduced their respective friends Guillaume and Tamie in 2020.

The ‘socialite wedding of the year’ was attended by many guests from Australia’s showbiz, business and media circles.

During both the pre-wedding event and lavish day, several stars took to Instagram and social media to share their own special moments.
