Hilaria Baldwin hits back at ‘cruel’ people after Amy Schumer took aim at star in Netflix special

Hilaria Baldwin indirectly responded to the jabs Amy Schumer sent her in the Netflix special Emergency Contact.

Into a new one romper magazine profile, the 39-year-old mother of seven said, “It’s ridiculous to be cruel to someone else.”

Schumer called her a “sociopath” and referred to her brood as a “von Trapp family” from The Sound Of Music in the streaming special, which premiered June 13.

Amy also took aim at Hilaria’s husband, actor Alec Baldwin, who was involved in the accidental death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while filming the movie Rust in October 2021.

“Her husband shot someone… Don’t look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin’s shotgun,” the 42-year-old Schumer said at one point in her stand-up routine.

Amy also famously cheated on the yoga teacher in 2021 after it came to light that she had allegedly been dishonest about her Hispanic heritage.

Schumer said she met Hilaria “years ago” backstage at SNL, where the star told her she was “from España.”

She added, “They have some of Von Trapp’s kids and they’ve named them all — I’m not sure, but very Spanish names like Jamón, Croqueta, and Flamenco.”

And this would all be fine and beautiful, except that “Hilaria from España” is actually Hillary from Boston.

“This woman is not Hispanic in any way. Her parents are not from Spain. No one in her life is from Spain.’

Alec and Hilaria share seven children – Carmen, nine; Raphael, seven; Leonardo, six; Romeo, five; Mary, two; Edward, two; and Ilaria, eight months — while Baldwin also shares his eldest daughter, 27-year-old Ireland Baldwin, with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

The New York University alumnus revealed to the outlet, “[Ilaria] is probably, most certainly, almost entirely my last baby,” although she admitted she doesn’t use birth control.

She said the birth control makes her feel “terrible” and “depressed.”

While she admitted she doesn’t enjoy being pregnant, she explained, “Giving birth is like going down a waterslide, that’s really scary.

“And then you get to the bottom of it, and you think, ‘I want to do this again.'”

Of her husband, she commented, “Every time I have a baby, my obstetrician writes the vasectomy doctor on a post-it note and I take it to Alec. He hasn’t done it yet.’

Speaking to the entertainment news outlet, Hilaria added about the criticism the pair sometimes face, “I think there’s so much focus on negativity. There is always positive news, there are always positive people. And so it’s a matter of responding to that.’

“And I have to remind myself and I have my core group of friends who always check on me,” she stressed.

The star also said, “You know, we are forever grateful to the people who lift us up and hold us through our tough times. And that can be as close as someone in our family or one of our dearest, dearest friends.

“Or it could be someone on the street just giving us a random hug or saying something really nice and supportive.”

Alec celebrated his wife’s feature film by sharing a photo of the spread with his 2.5 million followers.

The fitness enthusiast explained that she gave up her sense of control after welcoming her third child.

“With two, I felt like I could still have some degree of control; I tried to micromanage everything. And when I got to three, I just let go and thought, “OK, it’s going to be chaos. We’re outnumbered. You have to let it go.”

In the piece, Alec praised his wife and gushed that he is “madly in love” with her.

“I admire her and have faith in her integrity. She’s incredibly decent and she’s clearly a beautiful woman. I am madly in love with her.

“And she can be a huge nuisance sometimes, but that’s a marriage. But I feel like I know a lot of friends of mine who get into a routine and it’s all about their kids.

“Who has more reason to make everything about our children than we do with so many, and yet we try to keep some time for ourselves,” he reflected.
