A Florida fugitive father, who had been on the run for two months, was arrested in Massachusetts this weekend after allegedly telling his pregnant teenage daughter to commit suicide on her birthday.
Gared Wayne Canales, 34, reportedly told his young daughter in an April phone call that she was “worthless” and that she should “commit suicide, just don’t say it,” according to court documents.
The inconsolable 13-year-old cut herself and took 14 Benadryl pills in two separate suicide attempts, both of which she survived.
Now, after being on the run, the supposed evil father has been caught.

He was in Massachusetts over the weekend and was taken back to Flagler County, Florida, where he was jailed on child molestation charges.
Canales became the subject of a two-month nationwide manhunt before he was finally located in New England and transferred back to Flagler County, Florida, where he faces child molestation charges.
According to court documents, Canales verbally abused his daughter during a phone call in April when he called her a “b****” and other abusive and hurtful names.
“You’re not worth it,” he allegedly told her. “I still prefer my girlfriend to you, and I’m going to kill myself.”
The next night, the teen cut herself with a knife on the wrist, leaving a minor wound.
The following night, she attempted suicide again, this time using a shard of glass from a shattered photo of her and her father.
Later in the week, while in a car with her mother, the victim took 14 Benadryl pills, after which her mother rushed her to a local hospital, where she had her stomach pumped out.
She told hospital staff that she had “attempted suicide because her father said he wanted to kill himself.”
The girl later told investigators she wanted to press charges against Canales, and an arrest warrant was issued on April 14.

Police tried to locate Canales at his last known address in Louisiana, but he had already fled when they arrived.
Detectives finally found him in Massachusetts last weekend and he is currently being held on $10,000 bond for child molestation.
There was no word on why Canales had fled to Massachusetts or any ties to the side.
Officials filed a restraining order barring Canales from contacting his daughter.
