Aussie boxing superstar Tim Tszyu went fishing just 90 minutes after he sensationally defended his WBO interim super-welterweight title against Mexican Carlos Ocampo.

Tszyu took just 77 seconds to seal the win after knocking Ocampo down with a big right hand, before ice him with a devastating lead hook that left the challenger pinned to the canvas.

The first round win was a chilling warning for undisputed world champion Jermell Charlo, who he will fight for the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF titles.

Surprisingly, Tszyu didn’t start partying right after the fight and instead posted a photo on social media as he went fishing off a Gold Coast jetty later that afternoon.

Later in the evening, the interim champion finally erupted at a party at The Star hosted by promoter No Limit, where he celebrated with fans, family and friends.

Tszyu’s manager Glen Jennings revealed that the champion was fishing the week before the fight.

“The property we rented at Broadbeach Waters had a jetty at the back and very often during the week we put up a line,” he said foxsports.com.au

“We had three rods down there and caught a few fish too.

So after the fight it was still daylight so Tim went back to the house for a quick shower and a few of them went to the jetty to sit in the sun and cast the line.

‘Tim doesn’t mind a fish. It’s a nice distraction from all the noise.

“He was pretty relaxed afterwards and it was great for him to just sit and think in the sun with his friends.”

Jennings also revealed that Tszyu is already preparing to face Charlo for his four belts in mid-October – and will begin his camp in Las Vegas in August.

Team Tszyu is currently assessing gyms and sparring partners they can rely on for the title fight.

“We have to be very careful about where we train, who can attend and how much information gets out,” Jennings said.

“We won’t reveal much.

“This is the highest stakes and it is a sad reality about top level boxing that you have to take these precautions.

“But they’d take any advantage the other gang could get.

“So we’re going to be very careful and the gym partners and sparring partners we’re already talking to out there understand that.

“Those who have a role will be in the gym and those who don’t are not welcome.”

Jennings said they will spend between $200,000 and $300,000 on the eight-week fight camp.

“Obviously, nothing comes cheap in America, and we have a coach, chef, our team, and all the remedial people we’ve had working on Tim who are based there in the US.

‘And then the sparring partners at this level, they are sitting on a good coin, as it should be.

“But even there I don’t want to discuss exactly who we’ll be using, otherwise there are opportunities for people to … well, let’s say do the wrong thing.”

‘But the sparring partners will be of a very high level, and several sparring partners to keep Tim guessing and on his toes.
