EMILY PRESCOTT: James Corden hits back after American ‘trash talker’ accuses him of being a diva

  • Corden and his wife are said to be house hunting in Hampstead, North London

He may have just returned to Britain after his stint as an American talk show host, but James Corden is still dealing with the headaches of life in La La Land.

He has dismissed claims by American radio host Ally Johnson that he behaved in a diva-like manner while attending a concert in Los Angeles last month.

Ally, who was at the Irish singer Hozier’s concert, told listeners of the Klein/Ally show, “I saw firsthand how James Corden was a bit of a diva.”

According to Ally, the former Late Late Show host seemed “exasperated and annoyed” by the lack of a personal escort to take him to his seat for a performance by the Take Me To Church singer at the Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood.

However, Ally, who clearly isn’t a fan of Corden given that she admitted on air that she “trash talks” to him all the time, seemed a little less convinced of her story when I reached out to her.

She admitted, “It’s not like he threw a tantrum or anything, but it just rubbed me the wrong way.”

She also admitted that Corden, 44, would understandably have been concerned about wandering aimlessly around the nightclub and being recognized when his escort didn’t initially show up.

Fortunately, a Corden spokesperson shed some light on the matter, saying, “This is 100 percent not true. James had a great time.’

All things considered, it’s no wonder the Gavin And Stacey star is excited to return to London after his time in California.

The actor and his wife of TV producer Julia Carey are said to be house hunting in trendy Hampstead, North London.

But it’s not just a scene change on the agenda – One Man, Two Guvnors director Nicholas Hytner recently revealed he hoped to entice Corden to revive his lead role in the West End play. It definitely sounds like a no-brainer — the hit comedy received critical acclaim and won Corden a Tony award for Best Actor.
