The ‘painful’ Jeopardy! episode producers want fans to pretend it never happened

Producers of the long-running game show Jeopardy! say they hope an episode of the show will be forgotten in the future after players fail to answer 23 questions.

During an episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, producers reviewed the June 8 episode in which contestants dumbfounded nearly two dozen questions.

Producer Sarah Foss and co-host Buzzy Cohen said the episode is a low point for the show and something they intend to “forget it ever happened.”

According to the J! Archive, the record for the total number of questions missed during a single episode of the show is 24.

The admission comes hours after Jeopardy! made headlines when fans shared their outrage that no player answered a “simple” question about the Lord’s Prayer.

During the Inside Jeopardy! episode, Foss and Cohen agreed that it’s “never” a good thing for the players to remain consistently dumbfounded.

“One thing that wasn’t great about this game, in this game – this has to be a record – 23 triple stumpers. And it’s something we never like to see,” Foss said.

“No, not good,” Cohen replied.

“You know, it’s the last game before lunch… Maybe everyone’s a little hungry or sleepy,” Cohen said, talking about Jeopardy’s grueling filming schedule!

The show films a maximum of five episodes in one shooting day.

The stump series episode drove fans into a wall, as others have commented on the state of the questions and contestants in recent years.

“I really couldn’t discern if the clues were too difficult or if the participants weren’t well versed in the subjects. I think the clues have gotten harder over the years,” one viewer wrote.

Players Collette Lee, Kristine Rembach and Suresh Krishnan went silent on 23 unanswered puzzles, sparking a strong reaction from users online.

“Is it just me, or was tonight’s episode of #jeopardy painful to watch? As for unanswered clues, this episode had to be in the top 10,” one person asked.

“This seems to be a trend. I’m usually great at this game, but lately the clues seem complicated. I wonder if @Jeopardy has hired any new writers,” another viewer added.

‘Danger!’ fans were outraged after contestants failed to answer a ‘simple’ question about the Lord’s Prayer during the competition in Tuesday’s episode

The shock of one episode comes after another disturbing episode where the players failed to answer a “simple” question about the Lord’s Prayer during the game.

Matthew 6:9 says, “Our Father which art in heaven, [THIS] be your name,” Bialik said, asking the group to fill in the blank with the correct word.

The group made a mistake of biblical proportions by not even trying to guess the correct answer, as the stage remained silent until Bialik gave the answer.

Immediately after host Mayim Biyalik gave the group the answer, fans on Twitter began to heap their anger at the contestants’ inability to answer the question.

If you guessed “sacred,” you would have been right and would have made $200.

“Today, 3 Jeopardy participants knew the first line of the ‘Lord’s Prayer!’ Sad. Our Father, which art in heaven, ________ be thy name; They didn’t know the answer: “Hallowed.” Pathetic,” one wrote.

‘That is ‘sanctified’, you Gentiles! #Jeopardy,” added another.
