David and Victoria Beckham submit planning permission for huge outdoor kitchen

EXCLUSIVE Bake it like Beckham! David and Victoria submit planning permission for a huge outdoor kitchen in their £6 million Cotswolds barn

Since buying their Cotswolds barn six years ago, the Beckhams have spent millions on their grand remodel to create the dream home they call their “happy place.”

But their newest addition will probably be more attractive to their eldest son Brooklyn than former Spice Girl Victoria.

Because the Daily Mail can reveal that they are planning a huge outdoor kitchen in the garden of the house they bought for £6,150,000 in December 2016.

The couple has requested permission for the free-standing building that will be made of glass.

It will be good news for Brooklyn 24, who has recently made a career out of being a chef by posting videos of him making dishes like fried chicken, Scouse soup, and an English breakfast sandwich.

While he’s been ridiculed a lot for his cooking, it’s something he takes ‘very seriously’, with David also being an avid chef, often posting hearty meals he’s made at the couple’s home in Oxfordshire.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Beckham, 49, has lost interest in food now that her husband reveals she only eats grilled fish and vegetables.

An application for permission to make the latest improvements to the lavish property was submitted to West Oxfordshire Council this week. Plans show that the kitchen will be surrounded by wild plants and several tables and chairs for guests.

The Beckhams bought the barn in Great Tew, near Chipping Norton, when it was just three Grade II listed barns linked together in an E-shaped pattern.

At the time it looked like a building site and Mr. Beckham spent months renovating with builders.

Gradually, however, they have added more facilities, including a football pitch, spectators stand, outdoor swimming pool and sauna.

It also features a huge garage for the family’s fleet of flashy cars and motorcycles. And most recently they added a £50,000 safari tent to the site – now valued at around £12 million.

The lodge is 14 meters long and 10 meters wide and is said to have been made by the Cashmere Caveman Company, owned by Mr. Beckham’s close friend, the film director Guy Ritchie.

However, there was some debate over whether the fully retractable structure is permanent and thus may require planning permission.

The Beckhams’ home, which they use for weekends and holidays, is close to the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.

Although the family enjoys spending time there, they were devastated in October 2018 when a gang of balaclavas with robbers tried to break in.
