Australians traveling to Bali no longer need to be vaccinated against Covid-19 after the Indonesian government lifted checks on all arrivals.

To get over the pandemic, all tourists entering the country needed proof that they had been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The Australian government agency Smartraveller has now updated its advice for anyone planning to travel to Bali.

Australians are still advised to get vaccinated against hepatitis A and B, rabies, typhoid and other diseases.

Another change to the island’s travel policy means that incoming tourists will be given a “do’s and don’ts” card that aims to prevent bad behaviour.

The information card was announced by Balinese authorities on May 23 after numerous rowdy guests were evicted.

So far in 2023, six Australians have been deported for public intoxication and other disrespectful acts against the local population.

All foreigners will be given a copy of the cards that will inform them about local customs and behaviors, The Detik Bali reported.

The move comes after Bali’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights held several meetings to discuss how to ease tensions between tourists and locals, said Anggiat Napitupulu, head of the regional office.

“The card will be made and handed over to the Immigration Department so that the Immigration Department can put the card in the foreigner’s passport when they land at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport,” Napitupulu said, as reported by The Bali Times.

‘The map shows what is and what is not allowed in Bali.’

The Australian government is also involved in the campaign, warning people planning to travel abroad that different countries have different customs.

Smartraveller warns tourists to respect all cultures.

“Travelling is often about going crazy and relaxing. But don’t leave your manners and common sense at home when you get on a plane,” it read.

“We can’t get you out of trouble, get you out of jail, or pay your legal bills or fines.”
