Actor Kevin Spacey will stand trial later this month

Actor Kevin Spacey says he is confident he will be cleared of the assault charges and insists people are ‘ready to hire him’ if he is found not guilty at his trial in the UK later this month .

Spacey, 63, has been charged with 12 assaults involving three men between 2001 and 2013. He pleaded not guilty on all counts and will appear before a judge in London later this month.

In an interview with the German magazine time, he said he was confident he would be acquitted, just like last year at a civil trial in the US. In that case, actor Anthony Rapp accused him of misconduct that he says took place when he was 14 and Spacey was an adult. A jury sided with Spacey.

“The moment scrutiny is applied, these things fall apart.

“That’s what happened in the Rapp trial, and that’s what will happen in this case,” Spacey said of the upcoming London trial.

He added that he is ready to work again – and said others are ready to work with him.

“It is a time when many people are very afraid that if they support me, they will be canceled. But I know that right now there are people who are ready to hire me once I am cleared of these charges in London.

“Once that happens, they’re ready to move on.

‘In 10 years it won’t be a thing. My work will outlive me, and that’s what will be remembered,” he said.

He also talked about his struggle to find work since the first allegation against him in 2017.

‘Now I often feel like I’m back at the beginning of my career, when no one wanted me… Just because I was on the bench for a while, I’m not going to stop working. I don’t want to rust. I’m ready.’

He recently played a voice-only role in the movie Control. Director Gene Fallaize said of the decision, “He has a ridiculously supportive fan base.

“They want to see Kevin act. Nobody stops listening to Michael Jackson.’

Despite being confident he will beat the allegations, Spacey said he is “not ready” to talk about the allegations against him.

“I’m still processing it. I’m not ready to talk about it yet.”

Spacey believes he will be remembered for his acting and not the legal claims against him.

‘In 10 years it won’t be a thing. My work will outlive me, and that’s what will be remembered.”
