Tom was traveling light with only a backpack and a blue jacket as he stepped off the plane and headed for a waiting car.

He walked to Soho Square where he joined Hayley Atwell.

Hayley recently refuted rumors that the pair were dating during the filming of Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in the May-June issue of Country and town house.

“I felt like if I ever worried about it I could talk to him [Tom]the newly engaged star said of the dating rumours.

“And I know he would have said, ‘People say what they want to say, but you know who you are, I know who I am, and I want you to feel safe in this environment.'”

She went on to describe their relationship as a form of “platonic love,” which she says is sometimes underrepresented.

“And my love for Tom, my love for the process of this [Mission], and also the people they keep very close to them and who are very present on the set, have something healthy about them. I loved that, so yes, I can freely say, “I love this group of people,” Atwell admitted.

Prior to the interview, the Captain America: The First Avenger star announced that she is engaged to actor boyfriend Ned Wolfgang Kelly.

As for Cruise, he has been at the forefront of the Hollywood A-list since the 1980s, which was solidified with roles in Risky Business (1983), All the Right Moves (1983), Top Gun (1986), Rain Man (1988 ), and Born July 4 (1989).

Since then, over the next four decades, he has risen to become one of the most bankable movie stars with films such as A Few Good Men (1992), Jerry Maguire (1996), Minority Report (2002), War Of The Worlds (2005), Top Gun: Maverick (2022), along with the Mission: Impossible movies that started in 1996.

Much attention has been paid to Tom’s insistence on real flying scenes, without any CGI work. He previously said in numerous interviews that he refused to even talk about a Top Gun sequel unless they were flying real planes.

He said at the time: “For years people said, ‘Can’t shoot you [the movie] with CGI?'” And I always said, “No. That’s not the experience.” I said, “I’ve got to find the right story. And we need the right team. This movie is like trying to hit a bullet with a bullet. I do not play.”

Cruise learned to fly when he was 31 and made The Firm with director Sydney Pollack.

When the film ended, Pollack gave him flying lessons as a gift, saying, “You have to learn to fly now or you’ll never do it.” I know it’s one of your passions – you have to do it. It’s going to take you forever to do this…”

Six weeks later, he took Pollack to dinner and told him he had learned to fly. He then started a “really fun game” with the director, who told him it would take him years to get the IFR rating.

Cruise said, “A little while later I took him out to dinner… And we’re having dinner and at the end I say, ‘I’m going to pay the bill’ and I opened my wallet and put it on the table when I got my money out and he looked at my wallet and there was my IFR license in it. He said, ‘You son of a bitch! What are you doing?’

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which also stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Czerny, is out now in the UK and will hit US cinemas July 12.

The sequel, Dead Reckoning Part Two, will premiere in theaters on June 28, 2024.
