MasterChef fans left ‘disappointed’ by the cooking show’s current season: ‘It doesn’t live up to the same standard as previous years’
MasterChef fans have expressed their disappointment with the current season of the cooking show airing on Channel Ten.
The show’s viewers have taken to social media in droves to claim that this year’s episodes are “not up to the same standard” as previous years.
A Reddit user wrote: ‘Can season 15 keep up with the high level of recent years? We are somewhat impressed with the dishes cooked so far this year. Does anyone else feel the same way?’
“This season is not at the same level as previous seasons,” another person agreed.
“I would love to see how they chose the cast this year. It’s really different and no one stands out yet with a big arc in terms of development and flourishing,” said a third.

Another agreed, adding, “I know what you mean. Maybe we’ve been spoiled in recent years, but it feels like things aren’t going quite right yet.’
“I don’t think it helps that there have been participants in the last few seasons, so the level was higher. This year feels a bit…average,” one wrote.
“This show really peaked around Seasons 7-9 when the variety of challenges put on simply forced the contestants to step out of their comfort zone,” wrote another.
It comes after fans recently expressed their anger over a major editing error on the show.
On an episode last month, contestants faced a mystery box challenge where they were tasked with preparing a meal from a bizarre list of ingredients, including giant peanuts, pumpkin, and Toblerone chocolate.
After the challenge, fans were pissed that not everyone’s dish was judged and took to social media to share their anger.

“Terribly disappointed after tonight’s episode as we again had the situation of some “chefs” not getting to their dishes at the end so we don’t even know what they were cooking…” one fan wrote.
The viewer added, “Unfortunately, because the overall series has finished filming, this situation probably won’t be corrected in future episodes, so we’ll have to put up with it until the end, I guess.”
Another viewer complained that they didn’t get to see what the judges thought of the dish made by up-and-coming favorite Robbie Cooper, an Iwaidja man from Darwin.
“I’m not so disappointed as confused,” they said, adding, “What’s Uncle Robbie cooking?”
