Leonardo DiCaprio’s four-house compound in the Hollywood Hills undergoes major renovation
Leonardo DiCaprio’s lavish four-property estate in the Hollywood Hills is getting a drastic makeover – with the actor getting the chance to acquire a fifth home for his sprawling estate.
The 48-year-old Oscar winner, who is worth an estimated $300 million, has been slowly building up his estate since buying his main home for $2.5 million more than two decades ago — a 4,500-square-foot home on a hill in the Bird neighborhood. Streets, with breathtaking views and an infinity pool.
His main house seems to be undergoing a major renovation, with an excavator in the patio, a bucket full of building materials in the driveway and an empty swimming pool.
The interior also seems to be in need of a makeover. A building permit recently attached to it states that the house will have a new roof to comply with regulations as it is in a very high fire hazard zone.
DiCaprio first moved into the Oriole Way compound in 1994 – which is actually two properties side by side. One of the houses was Madonna’s former excavations.

The 12,530-square-foot Hollywood Hills home features five bedrooms, eight and a half bathrooms, a movie room, wine cellar, and spa. DiCaprio is known to rent the house to his actor friends.
In December 2022, the star purchased a 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bathroom home in the famed enclave of Bird Streets of Hollywood Hills — which belonged to his former neighbors, Ron and Joan Linclau — for $10.5 million — with whom he famously was to more than a basketball court.
The 1963 home was never put up for public sale, with the property located on the northern line of its property. It features a swimming pool and a guest house.
DiCaprio used his cousin Robert Hrtica’s stock company to buy the house.
In 2007, de Linclaus filed a lawsuit alleging that DiCaprio’s basketball court, which he built on his property, had “destabilized and caused significant structural damage to their property.”
DiCaprio argued that the problems were fueled by an illegal retaining wall the Linclaus installed.
The lawsuit would later be settled out of court, with the Linclaus and the actor remaining neighbors.
Last year, Joan passed away at age 90 while her widower Ron sold the house to DiCaprio.

The 2003 purchase was a four-bed, six-bath place, and 15 years later, in 2018, The Revenant star snatched up the adjoining four-bed, four-bath mansion for $4,850,000.
The actor could now add a fifth property to the compound, as another three-bedroom property is on the market for $5.35 million and is owned by Scream producer Andrew Rona.
The home, which offers breathtaking views, also features a separate guest house with full bath on top of the garage, completing the carefully designed property.
His compound now consists of a whopping five lots with four properties, totaling over five acres, 15 bedrooms, and 15,000 square feet of living space.
The Titanic star is quite the real estate mogul. In addition to his estate, he owns homes all over California, in Manhattan, and a private island in Belize.
In May 2021, DiCaprio went above its asking price to purchase Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Spanish Colonial home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles for $7.1 million.
The Modern Family star and husband Justin Mikita set the original asking price at $6.995 million earlier in March, according to Soil.
This is DiCaprio’s second home in Los Feliz after buying another 1920s home from Moby for $4.9 million in 2018.
The Killers Of The Flower Moon star has reportedly added the home to his collection to make it available to family members, as he resides at his three-home estate in the exclusive Bird Streets area above the Sunset Strip.
DiCaprio’s new home was apparently in high demand after it passed its original asking price of $6.995 million.
It’s also a significant win for Ferguson, who paid just $4.6 million when he first bought it in 2013.

Built in 1928, the home features four bedrooms and four bathrooms spread over 5,000 square feet.
His previous acquisition in Los Feliz, a 1920s Tudor-style house he purchased from Moby in 2018, is currently occupied by the actor’s father, George DiCaprio.
He also owns seaside real estate, a vacant lot on Paradise Cove in Malibu, which he bought for $23 million.
The Wolf Of Wall Street Star also owns a luxurious desert retreat in Palm Springs where he likes to come with his famous friends.
DiCaprio is bicoastal and also maintains several expensive Manhattan apartments.
Leo has been photographed on numerous outings over the past week while enjoying his holiday in Italy. On Saturday, he was spotted having lunch in Naples on the Amalfi Coast with his father and Peggy.
He was also pictured taking a nighttime stroll around Florence with Tobey over the weekend.
The European holiday comes just days after Gigi Hadid and Leonardo enjoyed another night out with his dad and stepmom in London.
The supermodel, 28, and the actor were both seen arriving at the Chiltern Firehouse in London.
It was their second night out in a row in the capital, after dining at China Tang with Leo’s parents.
The couple’s romance reportedly fizzled out in February, but despite the apparent end of their brief relationship, the two were seen together several times in May and were reportedly hanging out again recently.
Leonardo has a very close relationship with his father, who divorced the actor’s mother shortly after his birth and two decades later, in 1995, married Peggy Farrar.
