Overwatch 2 story missions cost $15 for ‘permanent access’ in season 6

Overlook 2The new Season 5 kicks off on Tuesday, June 13, and brings a vaguely Dungeons & Dragons-esque theme to the hero shooter’s battle pass and the return of the Summer Games event. The season after, season 6 of Overlook 2, promises to be much bigger and brings to the game the highly anticipated story missions that were first promised in 2019. On Monday, Blizzard outlined its plans and prices Overlook 2 story missionswhich will be part of a season called Invasion.

Story missions, which are separate from the recently canceled hero missions, in Survive 2, costs $15 for “permanent access,” says Blizzard. That gives access to three missions in Rio de Janeiro, Toronto and Gothenburg (an unreleased map location). Blizzard plans to sell Overlook 2: Access to Invasion story missions as part of a bundle that also includes 1,000 Overwatch Coins (the game’s premium currency) and a new Legendary Sojourn skin. That bundle also includes access to Sojourn as a hero for players who don’t already own her.

But it sounds like players who don’t pay will also get access to the story missions, at least for a while. They’re meant to be played as a team, of course, and trying to match or otherwise fill a five-player squad with only players who’ve paid seems incredibly clumsy. Polygon has reached out to Blizzard to clarify whether players are not paying Overlook 2‘s story missions gain temporary access.

For players who prefer to pay more, there is a separate bundle: the Overlook 2: Ultimate Invasion Bundle, which costs $40. That includes the base Invasion bundle, plus:

  • The Null Sector premium battle pass, with 20 battle pass level skips
  • An additional 1,000 Overwatch Coins, for a total of 2,000 Overwatch Coins
  • Two additional Legendary skins for Cassidy and Kiriko

Season 6 of Overlook 2, as teased at the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, will also feature a new game mode called Flashpoint, which appears to be inspired by Call of Duty’s Headquarters Pro mode. Blizzard says: “Teams will fight for control of key positions on the map called ‘flashpoints’ with the goal of capturing three of them before their opponents do. You won’t have time to relax once you’ve captured a point, because the next one is already waiting.” Flashpoint launches with two maps – one of which is set in India – which will be “Overlook 2biggest PVP maps to date.”

Overlook 2The next Support class hero, a nameless woman who appears to wield a very large sword gun, will also be coming in Season 6. Here’s everything Blizzard has revealed about her so far:
