A sheepish Nick Kyrgios was knocked out by Gordon Ramsay moments after revealing that the TV chef was the most famous contact in his phone.

During an interview with the ATP Tour, the Australian was asked to reveal the most famous name in his contact book and a self-deprecating Kyrgios said he had Ramsay’s details after working on a TV show together.

‘Don’t know. I have some tennis players there, but I don’t know,” he said.

“Okay, Gordon Ramsay, I think. You know, we did a little TV show together, so it’s coming to Australia. So yeah, probably Gordon. He’s a good boy.’

When Kyrgios was asked to FaceTime the Hell’s Kitchen star, he was prepared for rejection and wasn’t surprised when Ramsay didn’t pick up.

“It’s FaceTime. I don’t think he’s going to take it though. I don’t even expect him to pick up, so it’s fine.

‘No, it’s not happening. He’s probably cooking lunch.’

Elsewhere, Kyrgios is finally making his return to tennis after a long spell of injury, with the Aussie star lining up at the Stuttgart Open on Wednesday morning as he prepares for another Wimbledon tilt.

The 28-year-old, who is the eighth seed in the tournament, will face China’s Wu Yibing in Germany for what will be his first singles match since the Japan Open last October.

The tennis badboy pulled out of the Australian Open to have surgery for a debilitating knee injury, and it’s been a long way back for the outspoken star.

But after countless hours playing Pokemon and enjoying his mother’s (Nil) cooking at the family home in Canberra, Kyrgios is finally ready to use his racket again as he prepares for another shot at a Wimbledon title.

“This year has been really tough for me, obviously recovering from knee surgery,” Kyrgios told reporters ahead of his return to court on Wednesday morning (AEST).

“Coming back to a tournament (where) I’ve done really well in the past, played great games.

“I’m super excited to be here again and to get out there and play.”
