Sarah Beeny, 51, donates the wigs she wore during her cancer treatment to those in need after getting the all-clear from cancer

Sarah Beeny has revealed that she is getting rid of the wigs she wore during her cancer treatment and has decided to pass them on to people who need them most.

The Property Ladder host and entrepreneur revealed that she was fed up with seeing her wigs on a shelf at home and decided to give back to the community by auctioning the hairpieces.

Sarah, 51, who was free of breast cancer, added that they had often given her great support and were occasionally annoying.

Sarah started off with a fiery auburn wig on Monday, telling her fans on Instagram, “Day 1 – MY BIG WIGS AUCTION Today’s wig is this long auburn beauty.

“I’ve gotten to the stage after my cancer treatment where I have to move forward and to do that I wanted to pass on my wigs and get them off my bedroom windowsill!”

She added: “They’ve been a great support, a lot of fun, sometimes a little annoying, sometimes a little ridiculous, but all very important to me in the beginning when I first lost my hair.

“Now I’d like these wigs to get to the people who are where I was six months ago and need a pick-me-up.”

Sarah, who has had a double mastectomy and has been given a will for breast cancer since being diagnosed in August 2022, subsequently said her fundraiser would take place every day for nine days with a different wig to win.

She said, “I’ll be posting the last wig on June 21 and you have until midnight that day to enter whichever wig you choose.”

“There are a lot of great charities doing great things and many of them have been a huge support and source of vital information for my documentary.

“This time I’ve chosen to raise money for @breastcancernow with the main goals being to raise awareness, support and fund life-saving research, including research into secondary breast cancer (which ultimately killed my mother).”

Sarah shares four sons Billy, 18, Charlie, 16, Rafferty, 14, and Laurie, 12, with husband of 19 years Graham Swift.

She cites them as her motivation for making her diagnosis public.

The presenter revealed her diagnosis in an interview with The Telegraph in August, revealing that she had always suspected she would get the disease after her mother Ann died of cancer at age 39 when Sarah was just 10 years old.

She recently said while appearing on This Morning, “It’s probably one of the reasons I fit so many things into my life.

‘I kind of expected it. It is scary. They say “you have breast cancer” and what you hear is “what kind of coffin would you like?”. if you check it and catch it early, it’s good.”

Sarah Beeny v Cancer airs on Channel 4 later this month.
