A mother cleaning her teenage daughter’s messy room drew criticism from critics, despite millions being blown away by the transformation.
Snowenne, a mother of two, was devastated when her teen’s room turned into a pile of clutter and trash with food wrappers, dirt, leftover food and unclean clothes scattered everywhere.
In the end, she decided to clean up the mess and “reset” the room for her child who was on a school trip – only for many to criticize her for “babying” her daughter, while the teen was in charge of cleaning her own room.
The mother’s motivation came from cleaning the carpet in her daughter’s room – which was stained with paint and food – and cleaning up any extra messes that had accumulated.
The rest of the house was recently renovated and new carpets installed – but Snowenne didn’t trust her daughter with the new flooring, opting to put it away for a later date, when her child kept her room considerably cleaner.

Snowenne shared transformation videos on her popular TikTok account.
“It’s time to tackle my daughter’s dirty room,” she captioned a now-viral video.
“She’s on a school trip and thought it was a good time to address it,” she added. “My goal is to go through everything and get rid of as much as possible.”
The mother started by collecting the rubbish from the floor and putting some clothes and blankets in the laundry.
She also decided to repaint some old furniture to brighten up the room.
“We’re still waiting to replace her carpet. We have the new floor, but still don’t trust her with it,” Snowenne added.
The mother also scrubbed splashes of paint from the carpet and furniture and wiped down all surfaces.
Snowenne revealed the transformed room in a second video, which showed off the fruits of her labor — with a clean bed, a vacuumed floor, and all her daughter’s knick-knacks tucked away in drawers and on shelves.
Thousands were immediately upset by the mother’s actions – and wondered why she had to clean her room herself instead of letting her daughter do it.
“When my daughter’s room looked like this, I sat on her bed while supervising the cleaning,” said one mother.
A second mother wrote: ‘My cleaning method is that I throw everything away. If they don’t care enough to keep their room clean, then I don’t care enough to clean it.’
“Not in a million years would my mom let my bedroom get to that state in the first place,” added another.
“My mom would kick me out of the house for this,” said one woman.

But many others were concerned for the child and praised the mother for her patience and care.
“Seriously, is she okay? Is everything going well at school? I’ve seen a lot of bedrooms become like this with kids struggling with something,” one woman revealed.
“This is so sweet of you, when I was younger I was so inundated with my messy room – I would cry to come home here,” said another.
“You’re such a sweet mama, I’m sure she appreciates you so much!” a third wrote.
