Robert Lewandowski NOT interested in big-money move to Saudi Arabia

Robert Lewandowski is NOT interested in a big money transfer to Saudi Arabia, joining the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as the Barcelona star reveals he has ‘other priorities’

  • The Saudi Pro League is looking for several splashes in the transfer market
  • Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have already signed up to play there
  • Robert Lewandowski is not interested and would like to stay at Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski has not had his head turned over the wealth in Saudi Arabia, as the Barcelona star claims he has “other priorities” than money.

Clubs in the Kingdom are determined to go big on the transfer market this summer, with Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema already making the move, and interest in N’Golo Kante, Roberto Firmino and others.

When asked if he could be tempted by the Saudi millions, Lewandowski quickly dismissed the idea.

‘There is no problem. So I don’t think about it, because why should I think about it if there’s no problem?’ he told the Polish outlet Sports interior.

‘Especially because of my contract [with Barca] runs for a while. I see what’s happening [in Saudi Arabia] but I’m not worried about it, because I have other priorities right now.’

Without a doubt, Lewandowski is one of the greatest strikers of his generation and is a perfect fit for the top talents looking for clubs in Saudi Arabia.

He’s 34, which fits the age profile, but Lewandowski has three years left at Barcelona and he’s in no rush to cash in on that.

There is a lot of focus on Saudi Arabian football right now, with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.

Attempts were made to bring in Lionel Messi, but the Argentinian icon ultimately chose to take his talents to the Major League Soccer at Inter Miami.

Man City’s Riyad Mahrez, Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and Kalidou Koulibaly are all other reported targets, with several managers also being pursued.

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is reportedly appointed as Al-Ettifaq’s new manager.

Gerrard has been out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa last October.
