Collette Dinnigan is closing its Southern Highlands home furnishing store just a year after opening after ‘difficulty finding staff’
Collette Dinnigan has closed her eponymous home goods store in the southern highlands of New South Wales, barely a year after it first opened its doors.
Located in the historic post office in Mittagong, the shop sold artisanal fragrances, candles and homewares.
According to PS Sidneythe fashion designer set up her boutique as an ‘experiment’, but struggled to find staff to staff the store and was often seen behind the counter herself.
She will continue to sell her hand-printed Belgian linen curtains, scented candles, ceramics and cushions made from her exclusive archive fabrics and antiques online.
Dinnigan and her husband Bradley Cocks run luxury rental properties on the north and south coasts, as well as Bowral in the southern highlands.

The designer shocked the fashion world in 2013 when she closed her stores in Sydney, Melbourne and London.
Dinnigan later explained that she made the decision because her job was taking a toll on her personal life, and she wanted to spend more time with her husband and her two children, Hunter and Estella.
She previously spoke to Daily Mail Australia about the big change in her life and how it changed her family life for the better.
The star is married to Bradley Cocks and has two children, Hunter and Estella
“You can’t do nine to five in fashion,” she revealed.
“It’s all-encompassing. But I’ve got it under control now. I can spend the school holidays with my family instead of having to go to Paris for performances.’
In 2020, Dinnigan sold two of her Paddington properties for a combined total of $4 million, just days after putting each property on the market.
She then bought a $2.85 million cottage in Bowral in 2022.
