This space-saving hack will change the way you use kitchen roll for life

One thing that is never in short supply in the kitchen is clutter.

But now a TikTok influencer has come up with a nifty space-saving hack to give you a little more breathing room.

Among the various things TikTokers like to tell us that we’ve all been doing wrong, there seems to be a new gadget we’re better off using. This time it’s the humble kitchen roll holder.

Most of us place it upright on the counter with the metal pole pointing to the sky, but according to @cippirippicippi this is a mistake.

The video starts with the user grabbing the metal paper towel holder they have on the counter, with the towels already on it

With the side with nothing on it, they slide it into one of the open kitchen cupboards

Social media users are in awe of this hack, with nearly 100,000 postal savings

That approach could end up taking up more space than necessary, especially if you have a small or overcrowded kitchen.

Instead, the TikToker suggests, we could slide the holder onto a shelf so that the paper towel sheets can be pulled down more easily.

Users were stunned after the TikTok user posted her video showing how to properly use the metal holder, with many proclaiming the hack was “life-changing.”

The video, which has more than 778,000 likes, begins with the user taking the metal paper towel holder on the counter, with the towels already on it, and holding it on its side.

With the side blank, they slide it into one of the doorless kitchen cabinets.

And it fits really well, because they can tear sheets off the towels very easily.

The accompanying voice-over to the video says, “I was a year old today when I realized how this was supposed to work.”

Social media users are in awe of this hack, with nearly 100,000 people saving the post and 68,000 sharing it with others.

One person praised the TikTok video: “Smart solution.”

A second wrote: “No way.”

While a third said: ‘Nooooo man!!!.’

Another added, “Bless your heart for telling me this.”

However, others said the hack won’t work if you have closet doors, as one user said, “Not if you have closet doors.”

Another also wondered, “How are you going to close closet doors?”

And another said, “Not if you have doors on your closets like most houses.”

Meanwhile, a cheeky TikTok user commented, “But the roll is wrong, paper on the outside, not the bottom.”
