The incredible stats behind Man City’s Treble winning season
Manchester City made history as they recorded English football’s second-ever Treble-winning season on Saturday night.
The Citizens had already clinched Premier League and FA Cup titles earlier this month, but made a historic achievement this weekend.
Pep Guardiola clinched his first Champions League title with the club after their latest victory over Inter Milan in Istanbul.
It was a trophy that Guardiola has long eluded during his time at the club, but his wait to reign as Europe’s king of football is now over.

The arrival of the Norwegian in England has been much anticipated and it is safe to say that the striker has lived up to expectations.
In the Premier League, the 22-year-old shattered the single-season goalscoring record with an impressive tally of 36 goals (from 35 appearances!)
And as if his domestic performances weren’t impressive enough, Haaland has scored 12 goals for Manchester City in the Champions League this season, the most goals by a player for an English team in a single season.
NEW YEAR, NEW TEAM
Since the start of the new year, no one in the Premier League has collected more points than Pep Guardiola’s champions.
City have gained 53 points, out of a total of 66, since the start of 2023, which was 10 more than second-best Aston Villa.
During that period they also scored the most goals (50) and conceded the fewest (17) in the entire competition.
PEP EXTENDS RECORD
In terms of domestic cup records, few are as impressive as Pep Guardiola’s at Manchester City.
The Spaniard, since joining the club in 2016, can boast a 100 per cent record in domestic finals – augmented by their FA Cup victory over rivals Man United.
With four League Cup titles and two FA Cups, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has shown his dominance in England.
ILKAY IS QUICKLY OFF THE MARK
Who can forget Ilkay Gundogan’s record-breaking goal in the FA Cup final at the start of the month?
The German midfielder scored the fastest goal in FA Cup final history after netting against rivals Man United in just 12 seconds.
He latched onto a tagged header and fired a volley into the back of the net to kick-start their 2–1 win at Wembley.

Erling Haaland scored 52 goals in 53 games for Pep Guardiola’s side in 2022-23
HOW CAN I HELP YOU?
While Erling Haaland stole the headlines by firing the ball into the back of the net, much credit must be due to Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgian midfielder has provided no less than 16 assists in the Premier League, but it gets even more impressive.
After providing both assists for Ilkay Gundogan’s brace in the FA Cup final, the Belgian took his assists tally to 31 in all competitions – 10 more than any other player in Europe.
CAN’T STOP SCORING
Rodri’s goal in the Champions League final took City’s season tally to a remarkable 151.
To put in perspective, only three sides in the history of English football have reached this milestone before – all of them Man City.
The Premier League champion repeated the feat in 2013/14 and 2018/19.

PEP JOINS AN ELITE CLUB
By winning the Premier League and FA Cup earlier this month, Guardiola became just the third manager in English football history to win the double twice.
The Spaniard previously claimed the two titles in 2018-19 before doing it again this year – and adding a Champions League title to it!
Only Arsene Wenger (1997-98, 2001-02) and Sir Alex Ferguson (1993-94, 1995-96, 1998-99) had achieved this for Guardiola.
Of course, only Ferguson has won the Treble before.

Throughout the Premier League season, Man City averaged 65.2 per cent possession in their matches.
This figure was the highest in the 20-team division and helped Guardiola’s side cruise to another Premier League title.
THREE-PEAT KINGS
Along with their Treble success, Man City took the Premier League title – otherwise known as a three-peat – for a third season in a row.
In doing so, they joined an elite club – of just five teams – to have achieved the historic feat before.
Along with City, Huddersfield (1924-1926), Arsenal (1933-1935), Liverpool (1982-1984) and Manchester United (1999-2001 & 2007-2009) have done it all before.
