Emergency services quickly arrived and were unable to resuscitate Mrs. Armstrong.

Two of her daughters, aged eight and thirteen, in the backseat were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

β€œIt is devastating to the town of Molong with the loss of a young local lady, it is terrible news for the families,” Mayor Kevin Beatty told Nine News.

“Last night in the city it was very gloomy and today very quiet again.”

“It’s not good news for the city at all.”

Tributes have flooded social media, with a local woman who knew the pair saying she is “beyond comprehensibly shattered,” while community members said the crash will affect the entire city.

“I have no words for the heartache in my head right now, just a huge pain in my heart,” she said.

When NSW Police were approached for comment, police said local and specialist homicide officers are still investigating the circumstance of the crash, but confirmed the two drivers know each other.
