This Morning viewers are keen to snap up the clothes Holly Willoughby has been wearing on screen

Golly Holly – your dresses are flying out of the store! While her return to the This Morning couch doesn’t bring back disillusioned viewers, viewers are eager to get their hands on the clothes Holly Willoughby wears on screen.

  • The outfits the co-presenter wore on ITV’s The Morning have been flying off the shelves

Holly Willoughby’s highly anticipated return to controversial ITV show This Morning did little for the ratings.

But it did provide a major boost to the high street, creating a huge demand for the dresses she wore on the air.

On Thursday, when she co-presented with Irish presenter Craig Doyle, the program attracted just 590,000 viewers – less than half of the 1.3 million it attracted at the end of last year.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that ITV bosses held a series of crisis talks last week in an attempt to salvage the show after the Phillip Schofield scandal, in which the presenter revealed he had lied about an affair with a much younger colleague.

But while the 61-year-old has accepted that his four-decade TV career is over, Ms. Willoughby’s share as a style icon for every woman has skyrocketed.

On Thursday, she wore a £435 pink sleeveless dress from Mercy Delta. The dress is currently available for pre-order with a six-week wait for delivery

Every day for This Morning, Ms. Willoughby posts a picture of herself on Instagram and shares details of her outfit with her 8.3 million followers.

Last fall, she reportedly signed a seven-figure deal to be a brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer for two more years, and the website has an “as seen on Holly” section. Items from her M&S collection also sell well.

Ms Willoughby, 42, returned to This Morning on Monday to tell viewers she was ‘appalled’ and ‘unsettled’ by Schofield’s behaviour. Although 1.6 million people tuned in to watch her statement, nearly 200,000 people stopped by when it was over, and ratings plummeted throughout the week.

An ITV source said: ‘The ratings are not good. You have to ask yourself if people can still trust what they see. They’ve been scammed by Phil.’
