Woman Brings A TWO YEAR OLD Mattress Back To Costco And Gets $200
A woman has gone viral after documenting how she returned a two-year-old mattress to Costco and got $200 in store credit toward her new bed.
Yuliana Martinez and her partner hauled their old mattress to their local Los Angeles warehouse after learning of the company’s lenient returns policy.
“We saw on TikTok that we can return a mattress at any time, so we did,” she explained in the caption of the video — and their efforts paid off.
Martinez filmed her partner as he struggled to remove the mattress from the back seat of their car and place it in a shopping cart.

Martinez noted that they arrived at the store just before closing, but that didn’t stop them from getting a few looks
At one point, the mattress fell to the floor in the parking lot, causing them to burst out laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation.
Martinez noted that they arrived at the store just before closing time, but that didn’t stop them from causing a stir.
Everyone stared at us, so we stared back. It was so nerve wracking,” she said as she walked into the store with the old mattress.
After patiently waiting in line, the sales associate confirmed that they could return it as long as it had no stains on it.
The mattress passed the stain check but they were told to go outside and put it in a plastic bag to complete the return.
“It was so embarrassing, but we wanted a new bed,” she explained.
Martinez showed the mattress being dragged away by a Costco employee as he said goodbye to it for the last time.
As they left the store, her partner happily held up their $200 gift card and receipt.
Costco offers a ‘risk-free 100% satisfaction guarantee’, according to her websitestating, “We guarantee your satisfaction with every product we sell and will refund your purchase price.”

Martinez’s video has been viewed 1.4 million times and inspired a number of viewers to share some of the staple items they’ve seen returning to Costco
There are some exceptions, including electronics and diamonds that are one carat or larger, but most items are returnable.
Eligible products purchased from Costco may be returned at the returns counter located at any of the retailer’s warehouse locations.
Martinez’s video has been viewed 1.4 million times and has received more than a thousand comments since the video was posted on May 30.
“I’m not shameless enough to do this,” one person commented.
“People bring back all sorts of things. Don’t be ashamed. I used to work at the exit and [entrance] door,” shared another.
Another insisted that returning a two-year-old mattress is “too much,” but Martinez noted that “it wouldn’t be policy if it wasn’t allowed.”
The video also inspired some viewers to share some of the off-the-wall items they’ve seen returning to Costco.
“My grandmother brought back a year-old plant that died of hair,” one user shared. “She got her money back.”
“I saw a lady bring back a dead Christmas tree in March,” someone else claimed.
“I returned a Doughboy pool after the summer was more than 100% refunded,” another admitted.
Costco management declined to comment at this time.
