David Koch is joined by Natalie Barr, Mel Doyle and Larry Emdur at his Sunrise farewell lunch

David Koch appeared in high spirits as he enjoyed a farewell lunch on Friday.

The outgoing Sunrise host was joined by fellow Seven stars Natalie Barr, Mel Doyle and Larry Emdur at the Granna restaurant in Sydney.

The television host, 67, beamed as he made his way to a waiting car with Natalie, Mel and Larry in tow.

Missing from the shindig was former Sunrise star Samantha Armytage who was missing from the festivities amid rumors of a feud with Natalie Barr.

David looked chic in a sleek black suit with a white shirt and kept it casual by skipping the tie.

Natalie looked stunning in a fitted, long-sleeved white maxi dress that fell close to her figure.

Mel opted for a bright red blouse with dramatic feathered sleeves and a black pencil skirt.

Larry, meanwhile, was smart in a navy blue blazer and black slacks, as well as a white shirt and pocket square.

Also present was David’s wife, Libby, who wore a camel coat and light pink blouse along with black trousers.

It comes after Sam returned to the Sunrise set for the first time since walking away from the top-rated breakfast show in 2021.

Armytage sat on the couch she’d had for several years during her own reign as co-host of the show to say goodbye to presenter David ‘Kochie’ Koch on Friday.

While Koch smiled happily at the return of his former colleague, Armytage’s successor, Natalie Barr, seemed less pleased.

The pair looked awkward as Armytage sat down, leaving a large space between them.

However, the two women shared a quick hug as Armytage walked onto the set as fans peered into the studio from Martin Place.

During the interview, Armytage referred to her own acrimonious departure from the show, telling Koch, “I couldn’t do it after eight years.” [the job] not anymore.’

’21 years [of hosting] I just think it’s an extraordinary effort.’

The interview ended shortly after it began, lasting only five minutes before Koch and Barr moved on to other guests.

Samantha made Barr famous with a snarky tweet after leaving the show in March 2021.

Sam tweeted, “Look, I’m gone. Nat always wanted the job… and she finally got it. She should just go ahead and enjoy it – and forget about me (even though I’m unforgettable).’

Barr was reportedly “gutted” by her predecessor’s hurtful tweet months after her departure in 2021, suggesting she was desperate for the top job.

The 55-year-old didn’t expect the former presenter, 46, to be so “snarky” after years of working on Seven’s breakfast show together, a source told New Idea at the time.

“No one was more shocked and saddened by Sam’s comments than Nat,” the insider claimed. She’s gutted and has no idea why the snarkiness continues even though Sam’s gone [from Sunrise] for months.’

But on Friday, Barr appeared to be putting on a happy face, with the two women embracing off-camera in photos obtained by Daily Mail Australia.

Shortly after Samantha appeared on Sunrise on Friday for Kochie’s last day, his former co-host Mel Doyle also appeared live on the show to say goodbye to him.

Mel, 53, gave both Kochie and Nat warm hugs as she appeared live at the Martin Place studio.

Mel hosted Sunrise from 2002 to 2013 when she was replaced by Sam Armytage.

Kochie surprised his colleagues on Monday when he announced his resignation from the popular breakfast show after 21 years.
