Supercars star Chaz Mostert and his partner announce wonderful news

Supercars fan favorite Chaz Mostert and his partner Riarne Marwood announced their engagement just days after revealing their first child was born on a sill.

The couple lost their daughter – Hazel Lola Mostert – last month 22 weeks into the pregnancy, after a routine scan in April revealed a problem with the baby’s heart.

“We hoped and prayed and begged for a miracle for those next six long weeks of more scans and appointments because we have never wanted anything more in our lives than we wanted you,” Riarne wrote two weeks ago.

“But instead of waking up from this nightmare, it just got worse.

“The day your heart stopped beating was the day mine broke completely, all our hopes and dreams and the life we ​​imagined with you suddenly fell apart into a million painful pieces.”

She added that her daughter was stillborn on May 3 “with her hand on her broken heart.”

The Supercars paddock came together to support the pair, with Will Davison – who is expecting his first child with presenter Riana Crehan – leading the way.

And now Riarne has revealed that five days after their heartbreaking news, Chaz proposed to her during a sunset stroll.

The love of my life got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I’ve never been more sure about anything in my life than saying yes to spending forever with you Chaz,” Riarne wrote on Thursday.

“When the sun disappeared on the day we held each other for the last time and said goodbye to our precious daughter, you filled my heavy heart with a whole new depth of love.

“We are connected in ways I never knew were possible and I am forever grateful to have you by my side, through good days and bad.

You are my everything, my soul mate, my love and my light. I can’t wait to be your wife and spend the rest of my life with you.”
