New Tottenham EPL manager Ange Postecoglou scores windfall after selling lavish Melbourne mansion
New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has already made a fortune before moving to the EPL giant, selling his lavish Melbourne mansion for more than $3.5 million.
The Aussie coach is leaving Celtic to make the switch to White Hart Lane, with the historic move announced on Tuesday.
But he didn’t have to wait until the deal was finalized to score a financial windfall, as his massive Tuscan-style mansion in the exclusive Melbourne suburb of Toorak cost more than $3.5 million, sources said. real estate.com.au.
Postecoglou and his wife Georgia purchased the three-bedroom property in the leafy eastern suburb in 2016 for $3 million.
The lavish property has a large double garage, indoor pool, spa and gym; while the gardens were designed by renowned landscape gardener Paul Bangay.

The star of the conveniently located home is the kitchen, which features a massive marble island bench, Miele appliances and a glamorous chandelier; with patio doors to a large terrace.
It was a brilliant result for Postecoglou, with the property selling for well above its original price of $3-$3.3 million, just after leading Celtic to their second Scottish Premiership title in a row.
Sales agent Darren Lewenburg, of Kay and Burton Stonnington, said the Aussie star manager and his wife were thrilled with the outcome.
“They are incredibly pleased … the amount was significantly higher than the original asking price,” Lewenburg said News Corp.
“We had a lot of numbers coming in, but one buyer was very eager and had all his finances in order, and he came up with an offer that was definitely acceptable to the seller. Everyone was very satisfied.’
Postecoglou has won five of the six available domestic trophies since joining Celtic in 2021 (pictured with last season’s Scottish Premiership cup)
It’s an exciting time for the 57-year-old, who has risen rapidly through the management ranks since coaching the Roar to consecutive A-League titles in 2011 and 2012 after a long career in the now-defunct National football league.
Since signing with Glasgow-based giants Celtic in 2021, he has won five of the six domestic trophies on offer at the stunning 77 per cent win rate.
Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke, who is well-versed in Australian football politics thanks to his playing and coaching spells Down Under, told the Daily Mail that he expected Postecoglou to crush it at Tottenham despite the opposition.
“Because he (Postecoglou) has been successful I know people will probably try to undercut the level of teams in Scotland,” Yorke said in the exclusive interview.
“But at the end of the day, you can only beat the teams in front of you. And he has consistently succeeded.
“He has done a remarkable job.
Tottenham finished eighth on the ladder last season and Postecoglou has a number of issues to solve if he is to take the club back to the top four.
Every manager would ideally like to play in the best league, and the best league is in the Premier League. No wonder he was linked to a possible job.’
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is also confident the Aussie can reverse the fate of the flailing club, which has not won a trophy since 2008.
“Ange brings a positive mindset and a fast, attacking style of play,” he said.
“He has a strong track record of developing players and understands the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our club.
“We are delighted to have Ange with us as we prepare for the season ahead.”
Postecoglou will officially join Tottenham on July 1, and remarkably, his first game will be in charge in Australia, when Spurs take on West Ham in a friendly on July 18.
