Spice Girls: Mel B heads to a Hertz car hire to pick up a rental vehicle in Sydney

She may be used to fast cars and chauffeured limousines.

But Mel B proved she doesn’t always need the VIP treatment on Wednesday when she went to pick up a rental car from Hertz in Sydney’s Darlinghurst on Wednesday.

Bracing for the winter weather in the city, the Spice Girls star, 48, dressed comfortably in a matching gray Lauren Moshi tracksuit.

She channeled her inner Scary Spice by donning a leopard print trucker cap and opted for ultimate comfort in a pair of black ugg boots.

Accessorizing with a $1,200 beige Gucci belt bag, the Masked Singer Australia judge kept a low profile in sunglasses while her hair was tied in a tight bun under her cap.

Mel was chatting with two friends and smiling at a passerby, as if giving a thumbs up to a fan in the street.

The British pop star, whose full name is Melanie Brown, landed in Sydney earlier this week for the filming of the final season of Masked Singer Australia.

She returns to the Channel 10 game show alongside Abbie Chatfield, Chrissie Swan and Dave ‘Hughsey’ Hughes.

They are given the task of guessing what celebrities are singing under their masked characters.

Last year was Mel’s first time on the panel for the Australian entertainment show and she quickly became a fan favourite.

It comes after Mel’s comrade judge Dave Hughsey shared an awkward text exchange he had with her ahead of filming the new season.

Talking to the Hughesy, Ed & Erin breakfast show on Wednesday, the comedian, 51, revealed he had received a cheeky response from Mel, 48, after asking the former Spice Girl for advice on his facial hair on Tuesday.

During the conversation, Hughsey asked Mel if he should “keep or lose the beard,” sending her a photo of his unshaven face.

However, Mel, who had just arrived in Sydney after a long-haul flight from England, was in no mood for niceties.

He read Mel’s answer aloud and said, “Umm, maybe. But more to the point, ask your wife and not me – d**ckhead’.

“That’s even better than f-off,” his co-host Erin Molan quipped.

Hughesy signed off the segment with a message addressed to his frenemy, exclaiming “Thanks Mel B, accurate as always”.

Hughesy lifted the lid on his love-hate relationship with Mel, who joined The Masked Singer Australia panel last year.

We have a new panel. We’re actually already filming, and it’s hectic! Absolutely hectic. Let me tell you – I know why Scary Spice is called Scary Spice,” Hughsey said during an appearance on The Sunday Project in July.

“I love her, and she knows it, but she and I are in a relationship. She told me to do it [f**k] off in our first meeting’.

When asked why the pair tend to clash, Hughesy said they both have strong personalities.

‘Because I have my own ideas and she has hers, and sometimes they clash. I love her though. And she knows I love her,’ he said.

The Masked Singer returns to Channel 10 later this year.
