England Cricket captains Ben Stokes and Heather Knight were projected side-by-side on London’s Tower Bridge on Wednesday evening.
It comes ahead of what will be a historic home double Ashes series this summer, with the pair symbolically uniting at the iconic landmark as both the LV=Insurance Men’s Ashes and Metro Bank Women’s Ashes competitions run side by side this summer. they will walk.
And it certainly promises to be a great summer of cricket, with both sides taking on Australia in the country’s top cricket grounds in front of record-breaking crowds.
Stokes’ side will start at Edgbaston on June 16, while Knight’s team will kick off against Australia in a five-day test at Trent Bridge on June 22.
Speaking of the upcoming summer of cricket, Stokes said: ‘The Ashes is one of the biggest and best rivalries in the sport and it’s something every cricketer wants to play in.

“Having the Men’s Ashes and Women’s Ashes side-by-side is a great opportunity for the game, and we’ve already seen from ticket sales that fans want to be there to support the Women’s team.
“The growth of the women’s game over the past few years has been incredible and is a testament to Heather and the team and their quality and success on the pitch.
“Some of my favorite Ashes memories were in front of a big and loud crowd in England, they always had our full support and they will play a big part for both teams this summer. Hopefully we can continue to entertain them and put on a show.’
Ticket sales for the women’s series have already passed the combined 70,000 and Knight hopes both sides can pull off a double series win.
She said: ‘This summer is going to be huge for women’s cricket, we really can’t wait.
“To be side-by-side with the men’s team and have more matches on big stages is so exciting. It’s huge for us to be playing in front of such a huge crowd and the record breaking ticket sales will really give us an extra boost when we’re on the pitch during the Women’s Ashes.
“I remember seeing the England men’s and England women’s teams on the double decker bus in 2005 and it would be great if both teams had a similar summer this year.”
The men’s side will go into the series with some confidence after beating Ireland by 10 wickets last week
