MAFS’ Connie Crayden announces surprise new career after dropping out of university

Married At First Sight Star Connie Crayden Announces Surprising Career Switch After Dropping Out Of Zoology Degree And Went ‘MIA’

Married At First Sight star Connie Crayden has announced a surprise career switch after leaving college.

The former reality star, 29, studied zoology but admitted she had to leave because of ‘the cost of living’ in an interview with Yahoo lifestyle on Wednesday.

She also took a big step back from social media last year after breaking up with her boyfriend, music producer Daniel Caswell.

However, after admitting to being ‘MIA’ for a while, she is now back in the spotlight with a new business venture.

Season seven’s bride, who was married to Jonethen Musulin on the show, will be working as a makeup artist at Melbourne’s BocaJ Beauty salon.

Despite being portrayed on the show as a marine biology student, Connie said she had also been a full-time makeup artist for six years during the experiment.

However, producers didn’t include that side of her.

‘[Producers] knew I was a makeup artist, but they didn’t like that and felt it didn’t fit the storyline [they’d set for me]. I was gentle, a little shy and timid, so they thought that career wasn’t right for me,” Connie told Yahoo.

“It’s a shame MAFS never showed all sides of me – they should be able to show that women have science and art and we can do both and show both.”

The MAFS star is going to work as a makeup artist in Melbourne but still plans to return to her zoology degree in the future as she only has one year left.

Connie posted to Instagram last month saying she was “so excited” to get back to work as a makeup artist.

“I am very excited to let you all know that after a very long hiatus from makeup artists I will be officially returning to freelancing,” she wrote.

“All my friends and family know this is something I’ve had in the back of my mind for the past few years, but until now I just didn’t feel like it was the right time.

“I know it’s been a while, but I can’t wait to get back in touch with all my old clients and build new relationships with so many more.”
