How to get the Sky Armor in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Heaven armor adds a splash Heavenward sword nostalgia for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom β€” and you don’t even* need an amiibo to get it. You’ll need a few dozen Brightbloom Seeds, though, and enough time to run through long sections of the Depths to find each piece.

Unlike most armor sets Tears of the Kingdom, it has no practical function. The full set doesn’t give you anything unique, even if you get the Great Fairies to fully upgrade it.

*You can get a random chance to get a piece of armor once a day by clicking the Heavenward sword Link amiibo, but you can still find it the old fashioned way. Our guide shows where to find all the parts of the Sky Armor – the Pants of Heaven, Hood from heavenAnd Tunic of Heaven – around Hyrule.

Sky Armor Legs Piece (Pants of Heaven) Location

The Pants of Heaven is the easiest piece of the Sky Armor to find and requires the least amount of trekking in the depths. Quick trip to the Bosstal in the Eldin region, climb the hills immediately north of the stable and throw yourself into the Minshi Woods Gorge.

The Onion Coke Lightroot is some distance south of your landing point. The chest containing the Tunic of the Sky is actually closer, but it’s much easier to get to if you can actually see what you’re doing. This is partly due to the army of angry trees that come to life when you set foot in Minshi Grove. Make sure you have some dreary clothes or recipes handy in case you get hit. Like all enemies in the depths, the attacks of the trees bring gloom.

Activate the lightroot, turn to the north and you should see a large tree stump. Slide over to it, defeat the tree in the middle and open the chest.

The Pants of heaven give you +3 defense.

Sky Armor Headpiece (Cap of the Sky) Location

The Hood from heaven is under Hateno village – one of the few places in Hyrule that doesn’t have a gorge nearby. The only way to get there is to take a detour from the Meda Gorgejust north of the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower.

Drop the gap and then activate the Yikot Lightroot to your west. It’s not essential, but it does make navigating the path you need to take easier. Head east from the lightroot. You want to take approximately this path.

Stick to the north edge and use Brightbloom Seeds to light the way. The trail descends into a valley more than once, and while it’s fine to take that route, it’s a pain to climb out to reach the next root of light.

Finally you reach the Hateno mine And Kimnaz Lightroot. Activate it and deal with the Yiga threat around the blacksmith shop or ignore it for now. Keep traveling northeast until you reach Kisihayam Lightroot on the edge of Retsam Grove.

This grove is also full of angry trees, and the chest with the Hood from heaven sits in a hollowed-out tree trunk again.

Sky Armor Chestpiece (Tunic of the Sky) Location

The Tunic of Heaven takes a little longer to reach and has an added challenge along the way. This part of the set is below the Lanayru Wetlands, and while you might think the canyon on the north side of the swamp is the easiest way to get there, you’d be wrong. The area of the depths it drops you into is cut off by sheer rock walls from the location where the tunic is.

Instead, start from the East Hill Chasm Kakariko village, which you might remember if you’ve completed the side mission Journey through history. This canyon leaves you just north of the Abandoned Kakariko Mine. Activate the Arusakam Lightroot there, and go to the west and a little to the north.

Your goal is the Corom Lightrootfollowed by the Korakut Light Root north of that. The route here is fairly routine – valleys, peaks, gloomy puddles, the occasional Stalfos or Gloom Keese. The route between Korakut Lightroot and your next location, Nojoy Lightroothas something much more dangerous: a Blue-White Frox.

These are tough little (big, really big) monsters, but the parts they drop are excellent for fusion and cooking elixirs.

You can also just give it a wide berth and ignore the fight altogether.
