Liverpool are on the verge of making a bid for out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie after a difficult first year at the Nou Camp.
The 26-year-old signed for the Catalan club in July 2022, but struggled to cement himself as a regular in Xavi’s first team as they fought their way to the LaLiga title.
Ailing Barça want to balance its books before the end of June and the sale of Kessie is one of the possible options to raise much-needed cash.
Now Spanish outlet Sport reports that Liverpool are willing to offer €35 million (£30 million) to bring Kessie to Anfield next season.
The Ivory Coast international was a hit at AC Milan, making 39 appearances in all competitions and scoring seven goals.

Liverpool will be hoping to bring that kind of form to the Premier League next season after falling to fifth this season. Jurgen Klopp is set to rebuild the Reds’ midfield for next season, and Kessie would be another option in that mix.
Mail Sport previously reported that Tottenham were also pursuing Kessie and were in the process of asking Barcelona to name their price for the star.
Inter Milan would also be interested in a hunt for the star, but now that Liverpool are making a concrete offer, they could lure the Ivorian to England.
Barcelona are currently hampered by huge debt of £1.33 billion (€1.5 billion), are involved in one corruption case And must raise £177m (€200m) to sign players this summer.
