Ruby Tuesday Matthews checks into an institution because she has a nervous breakdown and suffers from postpartum depression
Ruby Tuesday Matthews goes to a facility “for some deep therapy” after a nervous breakdown.
The Byron Bay influencer, 27, revealed on Sunday that she will be “checking herself in to learn some new tools” as she struggles with postpartum depression.
“A little lost for words right now, but grateful for these moments with my babies. Some days I feel strong and a real powerhouse, but postpartum depression creeps up on you,” she wrote on Instagram.
“A nervous breakdown is not what I expected. But we’re here. And I still go. This will be my last 7 days on Instagram, then I’ll leave my phone at home and check myself in for deep therapy and learning some new tools.”
Ruby said she has been seeing “doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists and a number of therapists” for months, but “drugs don’t work.”

‘I have good days and bad days. I’m angry, these are my cards I’ve been dealt, that I’m so proactive and I can’t shake this silly thing off,” she continued.
“Medicines don’t work this time, I’m angry that I forgot the old me. But I also see the light. I know that the woman’s rebirth after having a child is possibly the greatest growth of her life. Only because I’ve been here before.’
“I have hope and I know it will get better and be better than ever! My girlfriends who traveled to come and help me. My family who shows up no matter what. Family really is everything and I’m grateful for that.’

Ruby welcomed daughter Holiday in September, her first child with fiancé Shannan Dodd and third overall.
The influencer, who shares two sons with a previous partner, announced the news to her Instagram followers alongside a video of her baby girl lying in her crib.
Ruby also shares sons Rocket and Mars with her ex-partner Ryan Heywood.
It’s unclear exactly when Ruby and Shannan started dating, but much-loved Instagram photos of the couple emerged in May 2021.
The couple announced their engagement in June of that year.
