After technical difficulties and a string of interruptions during Saturday night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final, ITV could be forgiven for crossing fingers and toes as the grand final of their long-running flagship kicked off on Sunday night.
The show concludes its 16th series with eleven hopeful contestants hoping to win a cash prize of £250,000 and the opportunity and chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance for King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
After an exciting semi-final, singer Amy Lou is joined by magician Cillian O’Connor, acrobats Duo Odyssey, dance troupe Ghetto Kids, dancers Lillianna Clifton and Musa Motha, opera singer Malakai Bayoh, singers Olivia Lynes and Travis George and comedians Tonikaku and Viggo Venn.
Ghetto kids wowed the crowd as they kicked off the grand final of the talent show at the Hammersmith Apollo with an energetic dance routine.
The six children, ages five to thirteen, are orphans living together in Uganda after being rescued from the streets by their ‘father’ Daouda Kavuma.

They made an impression despite one of the members being unable to dance after contracting malaria, but he competed by holding up a Ugandan flag.
The children pledged to collect the £250,000 cash prize and use the money to build a house in Uganda for ‘kids like them’.
On Friday’s final live show, Simon Cowell confirmed that one lucky eleventh act would make it to the final tonight.
Simon and fellow judges Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli decided that one of the three best missed acts was given a second chance.
After a tense deliberation among the judges, it was decided that Tonikaku will join the finalists in this year’s live Grand Final.
He finished third in Friday’s semi-final, with Simon saying: ‘We just had to have him in the final. It wouldn’t be the same without him.’
