Having too many photos on your Apple device can sometimes mean buying additional iCloud storage space on your account to keep track of everything.

For many people this is an extra expense that they do not want.

To avoid this, users can try to delete the hundreds of unwanted images they have stored on their device, but it takes a lot of time.

One really useful tool that Apple has is the Photos app – and it removes duplicate images.

This will automatically detect snaps you may have saved more than once and let you delete them immediately.

How to Delete Duplicate iPhone Pictures

To find this, simply open the Apple Photos app.

Then go to the Albums section and scroll down until you see Duplicates at the bottom.

Here you will find four sections under the Utilities section.

Click on a special folder called Duplicates where you can see all the duplicate images you have saved on your device.

You can view them all and tap Merge to erase duplicate images or videos.

It is also possible to merge in bulk by tapping Select at the top, then Select All, then Merge.

Once you have cleaned up all duplicates, the folder will disappear.

It is important to note that in order to perform this trick you must have at least iOS 16 installed.

If you don’t have iOS 16, you won’t be able to access this feature.

But if you can upgrade to iOS 16, you’re good. Although anyone with a very old iPhone model will miss the mark.
