A major weather warning is in effect for Australia, with parts of the country ravaged by a month of rain over the next 10 days.
While Australia experienced its second driest May on record, the first half of June will see a downpour in about half of the country.
Two rainstorm systems will drench much of South West, South, South East and East Australia over the next seven to 10 days.

Western Australia’s capital is forecast to receive 7-15mm of rain on Sunday, 15-35mm on Monday and up to 20mm of rain on Tuesday.
Wednesday is also marked by intermittent showers that will ease towards the end of the week.
“Perth is about to see its heaviest rain in about two months if not more,” said Sky News Weather meteorologist Alison Osborne.
Ms Osborne added that ‘widespread rain’ developed in Central Australia on Saturday and is likely to continue as it moves towards the east coast.
The second weather system – an upper level trough with its strong cold front and low pressure system – will cross the southern half of Western Australia on Monday and Tuesday with rain, gales, strong winds and possibly hail.
South Australia will also experience wet weather, with systems expected to move east by mid-week.
Inland NSW will be lashed by ‘a month of rain’, with around 15mm of rain forecast for Parkes on Monday, 20mm for Condobolin on Thursday and Cobar predicted 30mm on Monday and then 20mm on Friday

Showers and thunderstorms are expected over Central Australia on Sunday, with rain in southeastern Australia from Monday.
Light showers are expected in Adelaide early in the week but could develop into heavier downpours with 6mm to 25mm of rain forecast for Wednesday.
Thursday may also bring a shower with about 7 mm of rain expected.
Ms Osborne said on Thursday that inland New South Wales will be ravaged by ‘a month of rainfall’.
Around 15mm of rain is forecast for Parkes on Monday, Condobolin could see 20mm on Thursday and Cobar will see 30mm on Monday and then another rain on Friday with up to 20mm of rain.
Sydney could see a few showers from Sunday to Tuesday, with Thursday expected to be the wettest day.
Brisbane will also have to deal with a few showers in the coming days, which will disappear from Tuesday.
Hobart will remain dry on Sunday and Monday, but showers will fall from Tuesday, with up to 7mm of rain forecast for Thursday in the capital.
A few showers are forecast to pass over Melbourne on Tuesday and Wednesday, with heavier showers on Thursday.
Sunday and Monday should remain dry in Canberra with heavy rain showers from the middle of the week.
Up to 5mm of rain could fall on Tuesday, a shower on Wednesday, before drenching the city with a possible 20mm of rain on Thursday.
While parts of the country will be drenched in rain, the week will be sunny and dry in Darwin with temperatures reaching a balmy maximum of 31C.
