Queen Letizia joins King Felipe in Granada in celebration of Spain’s National Armed Forces Day

Queen Letizia of Spain was typically stylish in a colorful abstract print skirt as she joined her husband, King Felipe of Spain, in Granada today.

The royal, 50, paired the bright midi skirt with a stylish white crossover blouse as the pair honored the troops during Spain’s National Armed Forces Day.

Letizia completed the ensemble with a pair of low, pointed-toe fuchsia heels and a clutch bag in the petite color.

Her accessories complemented the colors in her skirt, including hot pink, orange, purple, green, yellow and blue.

As for her hair and makeup, the mother-of-two wore her lustrous auburn locks in an elegant, low ponytail.

And she opted for one of her signature looks, combining a fresh complexion with a natural pink lip and brown, smoky eye.

Meanwhile, her husband, King Felipe, also looked dapper, opting for full military regalia for the look.

Dating back to 1978, National Armed Forces Day in Spain is an annual event held to recognize the awareness and work of the Armed Forces.

It is widely celebrated across the country, with commemorative events taking place over several days.

The couple’s joint appearance comes after they celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on May 22.

After secretly dating, Felipe and Letizia announced their surprise engagement before they tied the knot on May 22, 2004, at Madrid’s Almudena Cathedral.

For their big day, Letizia donned a dress with a striking high collar and delicate embroidery, which she paired with a veil she had received from her husband-to-be.

And she also wore the glittering Prussian tiara that her mother-in-law, then Queen Sofia, had worn on her wedding day in 1962.

The ceremony took place two months after the Madrid train bombings and the couple dedicated their wedding to the victims of the attack.

It’s been a busy week for the Spanish Queen, who was caught in more than one engagement.

Among them was a much more subdued weekday outing, where she was seen as a casual, yet elegant appearance.

Letizia was caught wearing a striped shirt as she stepped out for a shopping spree in Madrid on Wednesday.

She wore a long-sleeved white top with black horizontal stripes, paired with black jeans, while visiting the Madrid Book Fair.

Letizia completed the ensemble with a pair of black pointed ballerinas and a cross-body black leather bag.

She wore her auburn locks loose and combined the relaxed hairstyle with a natural make-up look.

During the casual outing, the royal appeared sober as she stopped to take selfies with people.

When she wasn’t engaging with fans, Letizia, a former journalist, seemed preoccupied with the contents of the fair, showing herself to be something of a bookworm.
