Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson gets ‘trapped in a Formula One car by his belly’

Grand Tour’s Jeremy Clarkson was reportedly trapped in a Formula 1 car while filming the upcoming season.

In scenes aired during an episode of his Prime Video series, Eurocrash, due out June 16, the TV host’s belly left him “all stuck.”

While filming at the Poznan circuit in Poland last year, 63-year-old Jeremy had to wait in embarrassment as the Soviet-made vehicle was dismantled around him.

The television star – who has since dropped three stone – was hoping to race his longtime co-hosts Richard Hammond, 53, and James May, 60, around the track.

Looking back at the awkward moment, it is alleged that Jeremy compared himself to the famous pot-bellied book character Winnie the Pooh.

The sun reports that in the scenes, Jeremy asks, ‘Is there a bigger one? I won’t be able to. What do you want me to do, be less fat? I really can’t get out.’

It is alleged that Richard then jokes, “You’re so fat.” They’ll have to dismantle the car around you,” before later commenting, “They’re pulling it off him like a diving suit!”

Speaking of the humiliating experience, Jeremy told the publication, “To my eternal shame, I couldn’t get out of the car. I was like Winnie the Pooh, completely stuck.”

The three presenters worked together on BBC’s Top Gear until 2015, when Clarkson was suspended over several incidents, including allegations of verbal and physical abuse against one of the show’s producers.

When his contract was terminated, Hammond and May also announced that they would not continue working on the show without him.

They then signed a deal with Amazon for The Grand Tour, which debuted in 2016 and has seen five seasons.

The first episode followed the three hosts as they traveled to the Arctic Circle, where they visited frozen racetracks, ski resorts and a submarine base.

It also included May’s high-speed crash, which resulted in a broken rib after colliding at 75 mph.

James broke his silence about his “dramatic” crash in September, joking that he did it to avoid making the show “boring” weeks after it happened.

The presenter was involved in the terrifying accident while filming for the special episode of his Amazon Prime show The Grand Tour in Norway.

Speaking ahead of the show’s special, James shared RadioTimes. com: ‘I suppose. I did it on purpose, I knew it would be boring otherwise [so I] kind of drove it to the cliff!’.

The accident happened when the presenter braked too slowly while racing rally cars with his co-hosts Jeremy and Richard, and he “broke at least one rib” in the incident.

“It was very short, Made a loud bang. It wasn’t really that terrible, I don’t think. It looks kind of dramatic, but I was actually fine.

He went on to say the car was quite bent but was helped by local mechanics, although there was not much he could do due to his painful injury.

He went on to explain that despite the accident, filming went on as usual: “But actually, because we managed to get the car to work, we kept going, we lost about a day, because I had to fix the car and I was in the hospital for the night. But other than that I don’t really think it made any difference.’

James was assisted from his Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8 by paramedics and was quickly taken to hospital for a brain scan and x-rays.

After the star was given all-clear a day later, a source said The sun: ‘It looked very worrying at first.

“Jeremy and Richard were worried about their partner and the paramedics quickly came to the rescue.

“Medical staff were on standby due to the dangerous nature of the shows and were needed after the incident.”

The insider continued, “James hit his head pretty hard in the impact and got blood from it. He complained of pain in his back and neck. He broke at least one rib and was pretty shaken.’
