Chelsea REJECT £30m bid from Brighton for Levi Colwill

Chelsea REJECT a £30m bid from Brighton for much sought-after defender Levi Colwill and insist he is NOT for sale this summer as the Seagulls look to make the 20-year-old’s successful loan permanent

  • Brighton have now made a £30 million bid to sign him permanently
  • Chelsea have rejected the offer and have no interest in selling him this summer

Chelsea have issued a hands-off warning after Brighton approached £30 million for Levi Colwill.

The Seagulls are said to have made a bid for the brilliant young center back on loan at Amex Stadium for the season.

However, Chelsea have hit it back and remain adamant. Colwill is not for sale and they have no intention of accepting any offers after Brighton piques their interest.

Brighton are one of a number of clubs keen to drive Colwill away from the Stamford Bridge club.

The 20-year-old has made 17 Premier League appearances for Brighton this season, helping Roberto De Zerbi’s men qualify for the Europa League for the first time in their history.

He enjoyed his time on the south coast working under De Zerbi as he was given the opportunity to play first team football on a regular basis.

He has also established himself in the England Under-21 squad this season, and will play a key role for the team in the European Championships in Romania and Georgia later this month.

He is seen as one of the hottest candidates in the country and Chelsea are keen to keep Colwill, with newly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino seeing him as part of his future plans.

The Blues have been happy to see a number of graduates leave the academy in the past, allowing fellow centre-backs Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi to move to AC Milan and Crystal Palace respectively in 2021.

They could also lose another player who has come through the ranks at Stamford Bridge in Mason Mount, with Manchester United looking to boost their interest in the midfielder after their FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday.

But letting Colwill go is out of the question as Pochettino aims to integrate him into his first team next season.
