Lizzo threatens to QUIT career over cruel weight jibes: Singer re-posts mean comment

Lizzo has threatened to end her singing career after being cruelly shamed online.

The Juice hitmaker, 35, was furious after seeing a mean comment online from author Layah Heilpern that read: ‘How is Lizzo still SO fat when she constantly moves so much on stage?! I wonder what to eat.’

Known as a body-positive advocate and a proud plus-size fashion icon, Lizzo is launching an inclusive shapewear line in 2022.

Lizzo reposted the comment, writing, “Just logged in and the app and this is the kind of shit I see about me on a daily basis. It’s really starting to make me hate the world.

Then someone said in the comments that I eat “a lot of fast food.” I LITERALLY STOP EATING FAST FOOD YEARS AGO… I’m tired of explaining myself all the time and I just want to use this app without seeing my name in some bulls**t.

The star added that she “hated” Twitter, saying “this is what my body looks like when I eat clean and exercise.”

She added: You guys really need to touch grass… I’m not trying to BE fat, I’m not trying to BE smaller, I’m literally just trying to live and be healthy.

This is what my body looks like even when I eat super clean and exercise! You guys talk about s**t you know NOTHING ABOUT and I’m starting to get heated

‘I HATE IT HERE

“The love definitely doesn’t outweigh the hate on social media… all because I’m fat???? This is crazy

“You don’t know how close I am to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F*****G FARM…

“I literally NEVER search my name, this stuff just shows up on my TL and my FYP, it’s wild. I swear I just want to watch dance videos and science news and this shit comes in every day…”

The smoking star’s tirade also continued on social media platforms as she took to Instagram with a plethora of sultry snaps captioned, “I hate everyone today.”

She also posted a video showing herself lashing out at trolls at a recent concert, with the caption, “I WILL NEVER SUCK ABOUT HOW DIFFICULT YOU MAKE IT FOR FAT PEOPLE TO SIMPLY EXIST. OCCUPANTING YOUR BUSINESS IS *FREE*

“IF THE INTERNET WERE LIMITED AND IT TOOK 24 HOURS FROM ONE COMMENT TO POST, I WONDER WHAT SOCIAL MEDIA WOULD BE LIKE.”

Fans quickly rallied around the star in the wake of the cruel comment, with one writing to Heilpern, “Straight up so ugly for this. Like in your soul. Lizzo is a goddess and absolutely perfect. Can YOU play the flute, sing and dance for hours on end? I do not think so.’

Another wrote: ‘It is a universal truth that people who criticize others criticize themselves 10x more. Leave Lizzo alone and then watch your own life improve. You will be surprised.’

One fan typed, “people can be so nasty and there’s only so much you can do to avoid seeing all that. you’re a human being with feelings at the end of the day and I can’t imagine how hard it is to have strangers talk about your body when you’re so much more than that.”

Others wrote, “You guys need to leave @lizzo ALONE and get your fat phobia under control. Not all lean bodies are healthy and not all healthy bodies are lean. Let’s live our lives with the bodies we’ve been given and keep the hatred to yourself.”

Last month, an internet troll tried to body-shame Lizzo via Twitter, when a nude photo the singer shared on Instagram in 2021 resurfaced.

The Juice hitmaker shared the post, an unedited photo without any clothing, as part of a self-esteem campaign on social media.

But as it made the rounds on Twitter again, a fan tweeted a photo of herself next to Lizzo’s, trying to shame her by asking “me or Lizzo?”

Many fans seemed to backfire and rallied to support the singer, simply responding with her name instead of the troll’s.

And it seemed that Lizzo herself was eager to cast her vote by simply tweeting her own name as the drama unfolded.

The photo started circulating on Twitter again after two years when a user shared part of an article saying that Lizzo was “changing beauty standards” and wrote above, “Thanks, but my beauty standards remain unchanged.”

This reaction spurred many other trolls to also take a look at the singer, who has spoken proudly about being plus size.

But it was the comparison tweet that seemed to go viral, with the user posting a photo of herself next to the nude and asking who the public preferred.

In a counterproductive effect, many took to the reply section to show their support for Lizzo, with one replying, “Lizzo every day,” while another added, “Every and EVERY day.”

‘Lizzo. Gal has talents,” added a third.

And in a tweet that seemed too well timed to be a coincidence, the hitmaker himself tweeted “Lizzo.”

Hilariously, this prompted a slew of brands to tweet their own names — including Kikkoman USA’s official page, which wrote, “Soy sauce.”

In an earlier interview with FashionLizzo revealed that she would rather be known as “body normative” than “body positive.”

She said, “I think it’s lazy of me to just say I’m body-positive at this point…I’d like to be body-normative. I want to normalize my body.’

The star also added that she is ready to continue paving the way for ‘girls with back fat’ and ‘girls with sagging bellies’ and said, ‘I owe it to the people who started this to get here not just stop.

“We need to make people uncomfortable again so we can keep changing. Change is always uncomfortable, isn’t it?’
